Today's best WNBA player props bets

Young guns

The last time the Aces took on the Liberty, Las Vegas came out swinging and didn’t look back en route to a 98-81 win that sent a clear message across the WNBA. The Aces finished with all five starters in double figures with at least 14 points per player.

Guard Jackie Young finished that game 6-for-11 from the field for 15 points and her player prop for Sunday’s showcase is set around that same bar, with books pegging her points total as low as 15.5 (Over -132).

Player models range from 16.8 to as high as 23.7 points from Young today, sitting beyond the oddsmakers’ expectations. She’s coming off a big game against Atlanta, dropping 24 points on the Dream while shooting 10-for-21 from the field — a season high in field goal attempts.

That performance included a 4-for-9 clip from beyond the arc. Young shot 3-for-5 from distance in the first meeting with New York and faces a Liberty defense that allows foes to hit at a 34.8% rate from beyond the arc — third highest in the WNBA.

Jackie Young Total Points: Over 15.5 (-132 at FanDuel)

Just winging it

Dallas has plenty to prove after faceplanting against Chicago last time out. The Wings lost 104-89 as 10.5-point home favorites, which makes this afternoon a big revenge spot.

Dallas’ offense didn’t play poorly by any means. If you score 89 points, you should win the game. It just so happened the Sky shot a sizzling 55% from the field and went 14 for 24 from beyond the arc.

I’m looking to All-Star forward Satou Sabally to lead the charge for a motivated home side after notching 18 points in Friday’s embarrassing loss.

Sabally has scored 18 or more points in three straight games and her scoring prop for today sits as low as 17.5 (Over -120) while other shops have it up to 18.5 (Over -115).

Player projections for the versatile 6-foot-4 forward have a ceiling just shy of 21 points while my number comes out at 18.9 points. Chicago isn’t a great defensive team and is especially soft inside, allowing a league-high 41.2 points in the paint per contest.

Sabally can score in a number of ways but is great at backing down foes and scoring at the rim. She scored eight of her 18 points inside the key on Friday night. Sabally also had 24 points against Chicago back in May, finishing 9-for-16 and adding five free throws.

Satou Sabally Total Points: Over 17.5 (-120 at DraftKings)

Bank on Boston

Indiana rookie star Aliyah Boston continues to separate herself from the rest of the 2023 draft class, coming off a 19-point effort in the loss to Connecticut on Friday.

Boston went 6-for-11 from the floor and added a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe for her biggest scoring output since posting 23 points against New York back on July 12.

In between those efforts, Boston hasn’t been as active in the offense. She averaged fewer than eight shot attempts in the six contests between those outputs, posting just 9.7 points per game in that span.

Today’s point total is shorter, pegged as low as 13.5 (Over -120) while other books are dealing the Over/Under at 14.5 points (Over -115). Boston’s player projections call for a ceiling of 16.8 points against an Atlanta defense that is coming apart at the seams.

The Dream have allowed 90 points or more in three of their last four games and while two of those outings came against the high-powered attacks of Las Vegas and New York, they most recently watch Phoenix score 91 points.

Boston totaled 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting the last time she faced Atlanta and had 13 points in just 26 minutes in her first matchup with the Dream back in May. She’s projected to shoot at least 11 shots and log 32 minutes of floor time this afternoon.

Aliyah Boston Total Points: Over 13.5 (-120 at Caesars Sportsbook)
