Sparks vs Fever Predictions, Picks, Odds for Tonight's WNBA Game

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever logged their first win of the season at the expense of Cameron Brink and the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday, and in the return match, our WNBA expert Jason Logon expects a similar result.

The Indiana Fever face the Los Angeles Sparks for the second time in three games tonight in Indiana.

Indiana scored its first win of the season at Los Angeles last Friday, rallying back from an 11-point hole in the second half to steal a 78-73 victory as a 1.5-point road favorite.

Now, the Fever are back home after a grueling scheduling spot that had them playing three road games in four days. Will that factor into my WNBA picks?

Join me as I break down the WNBA odds and give you my best Sparks vs. Fever predictions for Tuesday, May 28.

Sparks vs Fever predictions

My best bet
Cameron Brink Over 0.5 threes (-110 at FanDuel)

My analysis
We get a second battle between the top two picks in the 2024 WNBA Draft with Caitlin Clark going up against Cameron Brink.

While all eyes have been on Clark, Brink is coming off a breakout game against the Dallas Wings on the weekend. The 6-foot-4 center scored a career-high 21 points in 24 minutes, shooting 7 for 12 from the floor.

That tally included a 3-for-6 showing from beyond the arc. Brink has become more active from the outside in recent games as she finds her place in the Los Angeles Sparks offense. She was 1 for 3 from distance against Indiana at home last Friday, making her 4 for 9 from 3-point range the past two contests following a 2-for-5 total in her first three games.

The Indiana Fever haven't been great at protecting the perimeter to open the season. The Fever ranks dead last in advanced defensive rating, watching foes make an average of 8.6 triples on 25.4 attempts per game – third most in the WNBA.

Given the growing spread, the game script says Los Angeles will be playing from behind which puts an onus on 3-pointers to close that gap. The Sparks have aggressive guards that like to attack the paint, leaving Brink to pop out to the perimeter off screens.

Brink’s 3-point prop is at 0.5 triples made on Tuesday. With her uptick in attempts from outside and projections north of one make from deep, I’m taking L.A.’s No. 2 overall pick to knock down at least one shot from downtown.

Caitlin Clark odds, prop for tonight

My best bet
Over 5.5 rebounds (+108 at FanDuel)

My analysis
Clark was big on the boards at Los Angeles last Friday night, hauling in a career-high 10 rebounds. The Sparks’ offense shoots the bulk of its shots from in and around the key, including L.A.’s guards. That keeps Clark in a prime rebounding position rather than protecting the perimeter.

She’s snatched six or more rebounds in four of her first seven games and had five boards in only 29 minutes in the one-sided loss at Las Vegas – a grueling schedule spot that had Indiana resting its stars in the fourth quarter. Player projections call for as many as 6.5 rebounds from Clark, who will be well-rested after that crazy stretch of sked.

Sparks vs Fever same-game parlay (SGP)

Cameron Brink Over 0.5 threes

Caitlin Clark Over 5.5 rebounds

Fever moneyline

Brink is getting more comfortable in the Sparks offense, and that means taking and making more shots from beyond the arc.

Clark has 10 rebounds at L.A. on Friday. While her player props have been tough to navigate, her Over on boards looks live.

The Sparks play on the road for just the second time and will be without starting PG Layshia Clarendon (concussion), stretching what is already a weak bench.

  • Over/Under: Over 165.5 | Under 165.5

Sparks vs Fever spread and Over/Under analysis

  • Oddsmakers opened Indiana as a 5.5-point home favorite and that jumped to -6 with early play on the home team. My WNBA power ratings produced a spread of Fever -5.24 for Tuesday game before adjustments for injuries.
  • Tuesday’s Over/Under total opened as tall as 166.5 and has since slimmed to 165 O/U. Friday’s 78-73 final score played Under the closing total of 165.5 points.
  • Los Angeles will be without veteran guard Layshia Clarendon for Tuesday’s trip to Indiana. She left Sunday’s loss to Dallas at halftime due to a concussion. As for Indiana, reserve guard Kristy Wallace is a game-time decision with a knee injury after sitting out the second of back-to-back games on Saturday.
