Glad I didn't bet my first born... I don't think she would like Houston very much.
I cannot believe how I was the Original topic starter and liked PAULIE LOL, by fight time I had Diaz why because of boxing politics and secondly Paulie made me very skeptical by ranting on websites about how he was going to be robbed, complaining about everything.
Yes I said Juan Diaz needed this type of fight (light handed puncher) still cannot believe I liked Paulie back then and switched sides due to boxing politics.
Glad you didn't bet the house either, I think I've learned so much from this forum and the truth about boxing.
I think I'm going to start making two predictions .. for the future .. my score card and winner.. and the judges score card... We should all do this to see how corrupt we ALL believe these judges are.
I know you were judging the fight with me round by round.. although we didn't exactly see eye to eye we both had Paulie ahead. I had Paulie up by 2 points you had him up by 4.
I won't do this for BIG fights, as I believe these fights are less corrupt and need a true "winner".
Fights in other countries, and fights in other guys hometown.. should be fun to see what WE see and WHAT we think about the judges.
I also think this could help us not make bad decisions if we fully grab the concept of boxing politics.
I think forget that I KNOW many of us know boxing very well, many of us have the winners and the right idea, but we end up losing because we don't use the last ingredient..,(judges).
Case in point, I liked Paulie because I thought he was the better boxer. I then saw the fight was in Houston and started realizing Paulie was no longer a draw and every single round that Juan Diaz landed ANYTHING would go to Juan Diaz, even if Paulie was winning 2 minutes of each round.. it would go to Juan Diaz.
It made me switch because I remember Clottey and Cotto.. and I remember that one score card that makes you want to QUIT watching boxing.
Sorry for the ramble.. just kind of sobering seeing and realizing how corrupt boxing is. We see lines and say wow Diaz 6-1 favorite let me jump on it.. but after the fight we realize why he was a 6-1 (and not because of his boxing skills or what he did in the ring that night).
Good luck to everyone,
Rich
