Hope you're right, boxing really needs him to fight the fights that everyone wants to see, instead of snoozers and Floyd thinking he was the greatest boxing god ever created.
Has any fighter been successful after prison? Mike Tyson's career was over after prison (I know 3 years is different), Riddick Bowe (it was over anyways), Ron Lyle was close to greatness, Floyd could go either way because he is in his mid 30's and relies on speed to win.

Can't believe I forgot about BHop, Floyd just needs to get do the time learn a lesson and give the fans the fights they want, do 3-4 a year, instead of 1, what is so hard about that, he is a gym rat, would it not be better to make money, build a better boxing legacy, not to beat your woman in front of his kids, talk shit and go to jail? BHop learned his lesson, he probably wouldn't jaywalk.
Fighters need to fight and stay busy other wise they all fall into the same traps, if Tyson would have kept fighting at the pace he did when he first started, he wouldn't have had much time to mess up because he lived at the gym, after he won the title he stopped fighting as much and he was enjoying the fruits of his success, then it all came crashing down (it was slow only because he was so young), Floyd only has a limited time to make money and get out with his brains still working good.

Jerseyboy...He is correct that the sentences for most cases are predetermined through their attorneys and the DA office. Then go to the judge on the day of hearing for approval. In my state anyway but I think its pretty basic anywhere. GL

what you are saying is true, however, the judge has the final authority. there is a chance that the judge did not like pbf and handed out a harsher sentence. i am not a DA or defense attorney but i would venture to say that more than 10 percent of cases have a sentencing outside the DA recommendation.
pbf is probably going to do less than 45 with good behavior and overcrowding/work furlough and he is going to get tons of special priveleges with the guards in return for future ticket, favors, etc.
