Round 1:
Oscar opens creeping forward and blocks a high hook, then misses a jab. Floyd probes to the body with half-hard jab. Then he throws a jab up top that Oscar blocks, then sneaks a quick cross in up close. Forty second in, Oscar hasn’t landed. Glancing cross by Oscar and they are in close and he unloads a few arm-punch left hooks that don’t really connect clean but apparently he is trying to get something going and let Floyd know he’s here to scrap. Halfway through the round and the crowd is chanting “Oscar, Oscar” then it dies down as Floyd circles and lands a couple fast jabs, then a whipping left hook lead. Oscar is a step behind at this point and probably needs some time to find his groove. He has thrown very few punches because Floyd is moving well and hitting, then retreating quickly before Oscar and unload. Oscar misses a left uppercut then lands a decent body hook, then Floyd ties up. So far, neither man seems affected by the other guy’s shots. Floyd is very calm and looking like he’s up to the occasion. Low hook to the cup by Oscar and he gets a warning from ref Kenny Bayless. Jab by Floyd. Mayweather wins round 10-9.

Round 2:
Mayweather fought a blueprint round in those opening moments. Floyd was 7 of 35 and Oscar threw and landed even less, but he won it. Good hook by Oscar and he sticks a couple probing jabs in that land as Floyd pulls back. Oscar misses a hard hook and Oscar lands a right after it as Floyd plays cutsie on the ropes, then moves off after tasint some leather. They trade stiff jabs and Oscar lands a big right off a jab and the crowd loves it. Two probing jabs by Floyd and another and they all fall short. Floyd on the ropes and he sashays and avoids most of the leather on two rights, then resumes moving and jabbing. Power jab by Oscar misses but Floyd moves back and doesn’t counter. Both miss short hooks as Oscar can’t quite counter Mayweather’s missed left. Good right by Floyd and he’s clipped by a one-two. Floyd absorbs a trio of half-windup body shots and moves away. Oscar misses a power jab. Oscar partially lands a body left. Oscar lands a stiff jab as Floyd leads with a hook that misses. Very good round for Oscar as he’s letting his hands go and Floyd’s offensive response is tepid, and seems a little uncertain. De La Hoya wins round 10-9.
