Interesting Freak. BC has some very good indicators going for them and I really like the BC coach with a loooong and proven track record. This week......tough.
I saw a commercial I think for Poker Stars or something like that,....Phil Ivey was on it, the commercial was intriguing because he was sitting at a table and they were dealing the cards in slow motion and he had an inner dialogue going with himself.
He was saying "this hand could be a starter hand, I am going to toss X amount of dollars in to see who is with me, and I'll see three more cards."
"The guy two players down from me is a strong player, he's raising me, hmmmm,
what does he want me to think, what does he want me to do?"
It is no different with the bookmaker, he puts out his lines and we should be asking ourselves,
"what does he want us to think, what does he want me to do?"
That line of reasoning has to be made when we are handicapping, is he trying to scare me off one side? Is he making a pig team look wonderful by giving it an over attractive price. Is he taking a side on one game?
We have the Alouettes this week giving only a point to a team with the same record the Roughriders. The Alouettes displayed a pretty huge ineptitude against Toronto in a very positive situation for them yesterday. They have head cases at wide receiver, mediocre quarterback play, an overrated defense and terrible coaching, both from a disciplinary point of view and from a game situation point of view.
And the bookmaker is saying to us,
"I've got this really good deal on Montreal for you."
It is like the ugly girl in the very short and tight miniskirt.....sometimes we go for it, right?
I'm certainly not buying them no matter how short and tight it is looking.
55-60% of the time if we do the opposite of what the bookmaker is wanting us to do, we go to the winner's circle.
The Sasquatches?..... if they can do nothing else, can score....we'll see over the week where things progress to....considering.
Ottawa -8 versus Toronto. Another case of the bookie enticing us with a line. In this case they have no choice as Ricky is out of this game and probably some more after that. Anyone who saw the other quarterback that replaced him briefly would wonder if the guy started for his high school team, as he lobbed one his first passes to the wrong team on a screen pass. I put my line out of -11 if Ricky wasn't playing. Sure, they'll coach him this sub up this week, but Toronto will be very vanilla this week and not ask him to do too much....I haven't read what the situation of Ottawa's quarterback yet.....want to know what is happening with them first. First inclination is to take the Redblacks, but won't right now.
