It was the right call and would have been a shame if the ref had called a foul and given Wich St. a great chance to win.

He clearly had hands on the ball. You can argue it was quick but he was on the ball.

there was an alternate angle replay shown one time in the original broadcast (though I can't find it on the OnDemand replay online) that confirmed Hancock had hands on the ball in my opinion. During this replay Clark Kellog said, "it was a good call," after questioning it upon the first replay. Watching live, I was screaming tie-up because both players got to the ball at the same time, Baker had better position and leverage to rip it away. I was surprised they called it jump ball but I was so glad they did b/c I've seen quick tie ups called early in games so often and it showed officiating consistency. It was quick but there was a clear point in time when both players had hands on the ball, applying force to it not just touching it. A no call wouldn't have been too bad, a foul would have been terrible but not surprising, and a tie-up was in my view the right call but of course it was not an easy call to make. The ref was right on the play and obviously felt Hancock had a hold on the ball. You just have to establish a hold on the ball, you don't have to hold your grip for any period of time.
