St
Josephs (1:30PM ET CBS Sports Network) – Fresno State comes through again for
$$$$ yesterday and we look for 4-0 and the chance at another $$$$ tomorrow as
the St Joseph’s Hawks take on the Dayton Flyers in semifinal action in the
Atlantic 10 Tournament at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. George Washington couldn’t miss in the first
half but when the Colonials finally cooled off St Josephs was able to impose
their will and their physical presence was too much for George Washington as
expected as the Hawks outscored the Colonials by 20 in the second half on their
way to a 86-80 victory. That resilient
second half performance speaks volumes about this St Joseph’s team and while
that win likely punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament, Phil Martelli’s
teams always take this conference tournament seriously and we expect the Hawks
to build on yesterday’s second half in their matchup with Dayton today. The Flyers managed to crack the top 15 at one
point this season but this Dayton team has really faded down the stretch and
while their 4-3 record in their last seven games doesn’t look that bad, a
couple of less fortunate bounces and it could be much worse. Dayton had their nine game winning streak
snapped by this St Joes team a few weeks ago and since then the Flyers have also
lost to St Bonaventure and Rhode Island while escaping with overtime victories over
a dreadful St Louis team and at home on Senior Night against VCU. Dayton is getting a lot of love for blowing
out Richmond yesterday but the Spiders were a mess coming into this tournament and
not nearly the caliber of opposition that St Joseph’s put down in George
Washington, a team that has a great case for an at large bid to the NCAA
Tournament. There’s just something not
clicking for Dayton offensively right now and if you throw out their 85-84 win
over Richmond, since the back to back losses to St Josephs and St Bonaventure
the Flyers have put up ugly point totals of 52 (in overtime!) against St Louis,
66 in a loss to Rhode Island, 68 (in overtime again!) against VCU and 69
yesterday against Richmond. St Josephs
have been scoring at will of late, averaging 82.3 points per game over their
last 10 games and after a second half where they dropped 51 on a really good
George Washington team we don’t see the Hawks slowing down against the Flyers
today. Dayton is still living off their
early season reputation and because of that they are, in our opinion, wrongfully
favored over a St Joseph’s squad that has looked the more impressive team since
defeating Dayton 79-70 a few weeks ago.
We have two teams trending in the wrong direction here and this spot has
paid dividends for us all conference tournament season so let’s ride this angle
again here. The points here are a gift
as this is a game we fully expect St Joseph’s to win outright but it makes
sense to play this at the key number of three and we will look to the Hawks to
keep our excellent run going by cashing our seventh straight winner on Saturday
afternoon.
$$$$ St Joseph's +2.5
I think St Joes will win this outright but if you can get +3 -120 its a key number and I think you always take that. I'm not giving out Fresno State as a $$$$ today because San Diego State is a whole different animal than what they have faced the past two nights but I do think Fresno has a good shot in this game. I haven't decided if this will be a play for me yet or not but I will definitely let you all know if I'm going to make a play on it. We went 4-0 yesterday (St Joes, Middle Tenn, West Virginia and Fresno St) and I will have my entire card at topflightsportsinfo dot com
Lets get this one for an early winner to set the tone today Good luck everyone lets have a great day!

Anyone taking the early degen action on Vermont vs Stonybrook? I'm leaning Vermont, the line has dropped to 6.5....started 7.5
Thoughts
On vermont here, went to buy it up to +7 and it dropped before I could punch my ticket, didn't want to buy a full point so took it at +6 and threw .5 unit on ML +225 (I know, horrible number there)
BOL if you took them
And good luck to all today, may the ball bounce out way Gents

Mich State-6 Hoping to break my 0-3 last 3 $$$ plays 5-5 overall
Maryland has been one of the most over rated teams in the country this year. They lost to Minnesota for crying out load even after losing on their home court to Wiscy. Come on man! Terps have stumbled down the stretch of the season and have looked out of sync at times. Mental mistakes, bad passes and inconsistent shooting and the lack of a killer instinct to step on their opponents throat once they have a lead. I feel like these issues will hurt them today vs a fundamentally sound well coached Sparty team. I think Melo T vs Denzel V will be the advantage for Sparty. Spatry will clamp down the Terps on defense and not give them as many open looks as they did the other night vs a weak Huskers team. You know Sparty wants this game so that they may have a chance to face Purdue again for redemption and for the big ten championship barring that Purdue can get past big blue.

At this other board I go to all the touts are lining up with Dayton as their game of the week, month, year, etc. Usually when all of those knuckle heads are lined up on one team it doesn't go as planned. I've though Dayton was overrated myself. I remember when Wichita went to their house and pounded them by 20 and having Dayton. I was like wow, wasn't expecting that. Anyway, thanks for the write up/info, think I'm heading your way on this one.

$$$$$ KANSAS- 4. The Jayhawks have been on fire as of late winning 13 straight mostly by double digits in what could be the best conference in America the big 12. During this streak the closest win they've had was 4 points. This team is connecting really well right now especially around their leader Perry Ellis. The Jayhawks lost early in the year to West Virginia but then got revenge in the second meeting. Last night Buddy heild had arguably his worst night of the year and they still Oklahoma still almost and should've beat the mountaineers pending a last second shot. This game in my opinion is the real deal bc of how well Kansas has beaten the big 12 and some of the best teams in the nation in the past month

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE. Thanks for this awesome thread.
Here is Rf_dawgs $$$$ for Saturday: *copying from last thread*
FOR SATURDAY'S THREAD:
Scottish First Division: Stenhousemuir vs Peterhead
Saturday morning takes to Ochilview Park in the quaint Scottish village of Stenhousemuir. The Scottish First Division is actually the 3rd level of soccer (behind the Premiership & Championship) in Scotland, so it's certainly not a very high level.
On the season both teams have played 28 games and amazingly enough there been 99 goals scored in each of their campaigns. Peterhead have scored 66 while on the flipside Stenhousemuir have shipped 62.
This is a bit of a risky play because of the variability in scoring in this league.
Four out of the last five matches involving Stenhousemuir have landed exactly on 5 goals. However, 5 of their last 13 have been 0 or 1 goal affairs. It's an all or nothing proposition.
Peterhead is a far more reliable of an "over" play with 7 out of their last 10 with 4 goals or more.
The matches between these two this season have all gone over:
08/08/2015 Peterhead 2-2 Stenhousemuir
31/10/2015 Stenhousemuir 4-3 Peterhead
02/01/2016 Peterhead 4-1 Stenhousemuir
I'm taking the risk and making this my final $$$$ pick of the week.
$$$$ Pick: Stenhousemuir vs Peterhead over 3 (-122)
WINNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to use my final play of the week on Oregon Ducks -1. Don't have much time for a write up so I will make this short and simple and hope it suffices for Bubbaski. Oregon has beaten this Utah team 6 games in a row. This year, on 1.14.16, they won by 18 at Utah. They then beat them on 2.7.16 by 10 at home. I may be missing something but a 1 point spread. Oregon still has a shot as a #1 seed in the NCAA tourny.
In addition, I believe in this tourny so far, the Ducks have played the more quality opponents. Both teams have played well on a neutral site this year but Zona has the frontcourt to match up against this Utes team as they have proven twice this year, quite decisively.
As always, GLTA
My $$$$ pick today is the Oregon Ducks -1.

Alright 2-0 thanks to providence.. Writeup couldn't have been more off though, as neither Bentil or Dunn showed up to the game, and Ochefu played for nova.. But whatever..
Today I'm looking at Arkansas Little-Rock against UL Lafayette.. Lafayette can flat out score, but Ark LR is one of the best defensive teams in the country. LR has won both the meeting this year (by 20 on the road, and by 4 at home).. The game is right in Lafayette's backyard, but I'm figuring this won't play into the outcome too much as LR has already beat them once on the road.... Oh, and it's saturday, and you better believe LR fans will be there in numbers to suport their trojans....

Im seeing a ton of love for Dayton too and it doesn't make sense to me. Anyone that has actually watched this Dayton team the last three weeks can't possibly be confident in how they have played. I made the mistake a couple weeks back of thinking they just had a bad game and would snap out of it but now I think they are a team living on their early season rep and we are getting a ton of value getting points with the better team here.

Michigan fan here. Love the effort yesterday, but Purdue is too big for UM to compete with. Horrible matchup. Big play on Purdue 1H -3.5. Only not taking the game because my hearts in this one. Good luck

UL Monroe has won 9 straight heading into this matchup and they have won me some money during this stretch. They swept the season series versus UT Arlington in both a high scoring and defensive game. They are more efficient than UT in FG, FT, and 3PT shooting %.
Arlington does come in winners of 5 straight and have gotten use to playing without their top scorer and rebounder Kevin Hervey. Prior to winning 5 straight they dropped two in a row to the teams left in the semi's, Little Rock and UL Monroe. UT isn't as polished against the upper teams in this Conference (getting swept by both).
The last factor that I like is 4 out of the 6 top players for MONROE are seniors. I believe they will play hard and dont want this season to end! On the other side of the court for UT it is the opposite, rolling out 1 senior out of their top 8 players (and he is a roll player).
I think MONROE with Senior leadership live for another day!!

Mich St has not really been challenged for 7 straight games. They have had the toughest schedule of anyone in the Big Ten. Mich St is 12-0 ATS in the last 12 games.
Mich St has only faced Maryland 1 time this year and they beat them by 9.
Mich St will face Purdue for the Big Ten title.

We are getting some value here as teams may be a little tired heading into Championship week but they are young and pumped to go dancing as well. Southern has had 7 of their last 8 games go over 140 points. Jackson State does eat up a little clock on their possessions but they are a decent shooting team and expect to see them in the high 60's. Southern should dominate the pace of play as they did with Texas Southern yesterday. They use the lanes well and get to the basket for high % buckets as well as kick it out to the arc where they shoot 35%. Southern wins 72-69 and we all get the over!

Seeing HUGE RLM on this o/u. Line opened at 135.5 and is down to 133...with 99% of the public on the OVER. It's still early but that is one big red flag. Just fyi...bol

Michigan fan here. Love the effort yesterday, but Purdue is too big for UM to compete with. Horrible matchup. Big play on Purdue 1H -3.5. Only not taking the game because my hearts in this one. Good luck
