Playing the -3 on here per the site rules but if you can get -140 or -145 on this ML you could consider the ML as value here. Either way, UNLV is a pathetic team and regardless if they are home or not Fresno State is head and shoulders better and should roll them tonight.

fresno state is 4-0 ATS in their last four vs. teams with a winning record.

Fresno state got fresh legs. Cheap spread so why not?

Dwayne Morgan and Derrick Jones Jr. each posted double-doubles for UNLV last time out against Fresno st. Both out tonight. The biggest advantage I could see when looking at this matchup was rebounding in favor of UNLV. That takes a significant hit with the injuries.

This is my $$$$ pick because this team is firing on all cylinders offensively. I'd Not see UTEP keeping up event Hough Marshall has a horrible defence (their offence makes up for I t though) I don't see UTEP scoring enough and is see them pulling away towards the end for the cover. I also like the over 176 in this game score might be 96-107 Marshall

TopFlightSports - I have looking at this game for a bit and now just read your analysis. All in all, I am betting Fresno St big time, both ML and -3. It is just too compelling a play, I do not see how UNLV can keep up with Fresno for a full 40 minutes after playing huge minutes in triple OT. And with a very short bench! I would absolutely make this my $$$ play also, but I don't think I have much to add that you have not already presented. Bravo sir.

Overall $$$$ record 3-3

There has been some analysis on this game here on today's thread, but I hope to provide enough more to make this count. For starters, the touney venue for ACC is in Washington DC, which is not too far from Hokie central. They had a *lot* of rowdy fans for their easy win over Florida St. Miami fan base has much further to travel to see them play, and Miami fans do not travel well. So I fully expect Virginia Tech to have the fan support and 'home team' vibe.

Also, one cannot discount how en fuego this Hokie team has been. They are 6-0 their last 6 games straight up as well as 6-0 ATS. One could have made some good bank taking them ML each game as they were dogs for at least 4 of the past 6. Riding the hot team entering tourney play works out well more often than not.

So even with all that, Virginia Tech are now 10 point dogs to Miami playing at a neutral site that will have their fans giving out the majority of the noise. That is a lot of points.

One minor downside to this pick is the free throws. Somebody else has pointed out that the ACC tourney refs are blowing the whistle an awful lot and leading to lots of fouls and lots of free throws. Miami is definitely the better free throw shooting team, with their top 4 FT attempt guys all making 79 - 85% with Newton being the lone exception at a still respectable 73%. Compare that to Virginia Tech where their top 4 in FT attempts are shooting 77%, 76%, 71%, and 67% respectively. This could end up being the difference.

All in all though, even with the FT edge to Miami and the fact that Miami is a senior laden team that could be looking for revenge from the beat down that Virginia Tech just gave them, I still think 10 points is too many. I would have this line set right around 6-7.

Hopefully this game makes up for the disappointing Utah Jazz pick of a few days ago. I also am capping the remaining Big West games later on, may have a pick or two there. Thus far the bottom dwellers have been getting blown out.

Nice write up, but Fresno is only going dancing if they win the tourney. MW is a 1-bid league this year.

That said, gonna tail you on this.. as I agree completely. UNLV stinks and their home crowd doesn't even care about their tourney games this year.. they're ready for the new coach and the next era of UNLV basketball.

One other thing I forgot to mention. Even though Virginia Tech may be a tiny bit weary after routing FSU and scoring 96 points, there is an advantage to having already played a game at the arena and being familiar with it. Miami will be coming out today and trying to find their rhythm here, so advantage Virginia Tech in that regard.

I am putting a bit on 1st half Virginia Tech +5.5 in hopes that Miami starts off a bit slow at the new venue.

I do expect Miami to win this game in the end though. Senior laden team will find a way to get it done in a somewhat close game. If Virginia Tech has the 1st half lead, I likely will be taking Miami 2nd half unless I see something in the game that really bothers me.
