You might be right, and BYU may cover, but your comparison could be argued against.

BYU beat Okla St, Kansas, and Kansas State at home. Iowa State lost to Okla St, And Kansas on the road. Iowa State did lose to Kansas State at home.

Yet, BYU lost to Utah on the road, and Iowa St beat Utah by 23 points. BYU lost to TCU while Iowa State beat TCU by 30. Finally, BYU lost to Houston on the road by 31 points, while Iowa State lost to Houston on the road by 9.

BYU is red hot, but they are also a different team on the road then at home. The Super Soaker is a great home field advantage for BYU. Iowa State is 15-1 at home.
