Hello there everyone on COVERS!!!  I am back for the CBB season .  Lets kill the books.  My first official plays are here:

Cornell -2.5

Kent State -2

Utah State +2.5

Nevada +5

Cal Irvine +2.5

Arkansas St  -5.5      

GL everyone.  Any questions on picks , i am willing to answer.

why cal irvine, utah state and nevada? i like cornell and kent state, might pull the trigger on arky state too so good luck with those

Cornell coming off a impressive win at Alabama.  Cornell is a solid team that coming off a good year last year.  They bring back the best player in the IVY league in Ryan Whitman and a very good big guy in 7 footer Jeff Foote.  Not to mention they get back the 07-08 Player of the Year Louis Dale who was battling through injuries all of last year.  They have two transfers , Mark Coury from Kentucky and Max Groebe from UMASS.  Last, they have the Rookie of the Year in Chris Wrobleski.  Very deep team that will do some damage in the tourney this year.  Umass on the other end lost to a very bad UCF team by 17.  UCF lost Taylor to the NBA and the leading returning scorer averaged 8 points a game.  Umass was a very weak defensive team last year that got even weaker this year because of the loss of Big man Tony Gaffney.  Look for the Big Red to easily cover this spread.  I see a 10-15 point win for the Big Red.  FInal Score 78-66

Utah lost 4 seniors including Player of the Year Luke Nevill.  The leading returning scorer is Carlos Brown JR.  along with Luka Drca.  Utah lost to a Idaho Team at home who is predicted to finish under Utah State in the WAC.  With its recruiting class Utah will be good in the coming years but just not this year.  Utah State came off a 30 win season where they lost player of the year Gary Wilkinson.  The difference is they return starter Jared Quayle and Tyler Newbold.  Tai Wesley should have  a breakout season inside for the Wolfpack and they also have a standout junior college transfer in Nate Bendall.  Utah State wins this one 58-52.

Nevada have a great one two punch in Armon Johnson and Luke Babbitt.  Luke went for 26 in the first game this year and look for him to be the Player of the Year in the WAC this season.  Dario Hunt is a shot blocking machine inside for the Wolfpack.  Brandon Fields is another returning starter from last year's 21 win squad.  The Rebels missed the NCAA tourney last year where they won 21 games but they also lost 50 percent of their scoring from last year.  Guard Tre'Von Willis is probably the Rebels' best player until guard Derrick Jasper can be fully recovered from microfracture surgery.  There are many new faces in the Sin City and it will take time for them to jell together.  Chase Stanback is another solid player who transferred in from UCLA.  New faces and guys coming back from injuries will slow down the Rebels early in the year.  This team will get better mid to late season but for now the Wolfpack will take down the Rebels.   78-71 Wolfpack

I am on Cornell as well.  Really like the way they started the year and are solid with all of their returning players.  I agree on a DD win.

Yes no problem.  Lets see where i start in this game.  First off , Arkansas St. hired two time SEC coach of the year John Brady to call the shots for the Indians.  Very good hire IMO.  They return former junior college All american Donald Boone who was the leading returning scorer but is out for the year now after blowing his ACL in the first game.  If he was playing this line would definately be DD.  SEMO on the other hand , is just flat out bad.  They finished the season 3-27 last year and lost there best returning scorer in the first game to a knee injury.  They have NCAA sanctions hanging over their head which is always a bad thing.  Arkansas St. easy money tonight.

With this said, don't you think the total is too high ? I love under 141 on this one...
