Did the Hokies do enough to get in?

They took the #1 team in the country down to the wire. The question is did they do enough to get into the NCAA?

i would say no because close losses aren't that impressive, imo. They have beaten no one, their key wins were in conf. against BC (2), MD (2), and UVA (2). That's NOT nearly enough even with a weak bubble.

I would say YES... they were sitting on the last 4 out before this game... and I believe that this pushed them into the last 4 in... but it depends what happens to teams like... Temple... but I believe that gives them the nod over OSU

yes, they could just take one look at this game and see they are one of the best 32 or 34 at large teams

That win against Miami helped their cause a lot, and another huge down to the wire game vs #1...

Mikey......VT has impressed me since the last time we talked about this...They might not get in because all of these bullshit teams are getting in.....I guess it was that one game that VT got murdered by like 40 that got me off of VT....Nice game from VT today

i believe they should get in, b/c many of the other bubble teams shit the bed...plus, they finished really strong when they got healthy, and i think the mia win was a "bubble win" - mia no, vtech yes....the kentucky loss was big for vtech too

Despite an unimpressive RPI,I think that they barely sneak in.
 
They should however root against Georgia,Temple, Akron and the Minnesota/Illinois winner.

 I think that Temple is finished if they don't beat St.Josephs today,and don't forget about VCU.

If they weren't good enough to get in before, they aren't now. In my opinion they aren't in......lots of teams play "close" games.....hell Arizona played an assload of "close" games and they're on the fence. Close doesn't cut it.

I think it could go either way right now. They are getting very lucky that most bubble teams are losing, and looking bad while doing so. The problem is all these teams winning their conference tourneys that wouldn't of gotten at large bids (George Mason, San Diego). If teams like Georgia, Illinois/Minnesota, Temple or Akron win their conference tourneys it will really hurt Virginia Techs chances.

With that said it was the win against Miami yesterday that would get them in, not a close loss today. A lot of teams play UNC close, and you can't just forget about earlier in the year when V-Tech lost by about 40.

They will get in but that is not saying much.This has been a very down year in college basketball.The fact that the best players hang for a year and then split has turned it into a form of junior college basketball circa 1970 or so.

 The lack of fundamentals, the sloppiness of play, and the erratic play of freshmen and sophomores has really diminished the quality of play.Sorry to say, but there is now a huge gap between pro ball and college that did not exist all that many years ago.

I wish they made a rule that you had to be 3 years removed from high school like college football has.  That way players would be in college for a minimum of 2 years

If you put a team like va tech in the tournament... What do you tell teams like Syracuse who have a much better resume throughout the year... No way va tech should be in have fun in the NIT.

You cant say Kentucky is a lock when they had horrible out of conference losses and they lost to a team in Georgia below .500 and 4-12 in the conference... the sec is having a down year and Kentucky will be sweating come tomorrow

I actually think they need to get rid of the rule that you have to go to college at least 1 year before entering the draft, like it was before. That way you only get players that want to be there playing, and not kids just killing a year before they get to play in the pros.

Can you imagine LeBron James playing college ball? Would have been a complete waste of his time.

No way. Their non-conference was pretty embarrassing, but there's not a chance in hell they don't make the tourney.

They proved that they are the fourth best team in the ACC, and the ACC will get four teams in, and thats what it comes down to.  Can you imagine the ACC only getting three in the tourney?  I just don't see that happening.

Seriously.. I think we all can agree Syracuse is out specially with nova on the bubble. Whether they deserve it or not doesn't matter, but just compare these 2... It is not even close.
