I was just wondering what is the standard thinking here.
Back story is I have been picking up some pretty decent cash at the window regularly and I never tip because why should I. Anyways they all hate me. I always say please and thank you. I'm very polite not a jerk at all. But they all think I'm a jerk because I don't tip and yesterday I saw a guy get $200 and he tipped $10 or $20 and it was all "thank you so much" several times from the window staff whereas they don't even respond to me when I say thanks after collecting, they just give me a dirty look and say nothing.
Do you tip ? I always tip a waitress and a pizza delivery man but I don't think I should be tipping the window. They do nothing but give you your money.
I win a lot. I also lose a lot. Even when I pick up say $4,000, I might have lost that night. It's impossible to win long term if you tip the window every time you pick up. The kiosk doesn't give any cash, you have to get cash at the window.
I picked up big money after the NFL season but pretty much just broke even, probably even lost a little so I didn't tip. That's when I first noticed hatred coming from the window staff.
Should I tip or am I right about not tipping them.
Thank you in advance

Of course you tip. Its good karma. $2-$5 goes a long way when you place the bet and when you cash. Pro tip if it is allowed and you plan on being at the book all day, plus you have a hot parlay put a $5-$10 parlay for them instead of a tip and they have action all day. They will love to talk to you about it. Especially if it hits.

I would not tip the window as like you said, they do nothing and there is no service provided. Tipping culture has gone too far in America and it is ridiculous. This is coming from a person who tips service people well. Service people though only!
Okay and what service per say does a blackjack dealer provide other than flipping cards? You tip him or her? Of course you do. Again this isn't about the service. It is about paying tribute to the gambling gods and hoping for good karma. If you don't think that is a real thing you haven't gambled long enough. Even if it is just a placebo... whatever gets your mind right and allows you to see the field better works for me.

Stop being a cheap skate and take care of the service industry as they make minimum wage and most rely on tips or tips help boost their income. Even if it’s just loose change from the winnings say u win a small bet of $75.78.. leave the loose change.

Agree, like placing a bet for the dealers at the tables. Roulette table dealer might try to hit the number when you place a few extra chips for the dealers

Lol at good karma. If wanted good karma I'd donate some of my winnings to the Salvation Army or give a few bucks to some homeless guy down the street from the casino. Those window clerks make about $20 an hr so I'm sure they'll be alright

They don't just pay you they also write your tickets. Not to mention if you are nice to them you can ask them what kind of action have they been booking on a certain side and that could be useful information. Kindness is great. Tipping doesn't have to be much but a little here and there can be helpful, especially if you are a regular at the window.
COVERS allows u to tell someone they are sexually frustrated so long as ur hands are clean

Yes I tip very well but how many times have you been screwed because they gave you the wrong choice! A lot! So now I have to go over them and hold up the line. Same couple of guys over the years.

What happened..did one of the ticket writers laugh at your heavy ML chalk parlay tickets...did they say something like "Sucker" under their breath and it rubbed you the wrong way when risking $3K to win $145.
