yeah those close losses, meaningless 3 pt, etc are more the norm than anything this year...tightest lines I can recall in years
BOL GW
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I mean I am doing way better than ever before, but I haven't made a lot of bad bets this year yet I still think I could be doing a lot better.
The bad losses never seem to overcome the lucky wins, though

miss st 2-4, uva 1-2, sparty 7-8, vcu 5-7, duke
11-14, asu 2-3, zona 6-7, nmsu 2-4, usf 9-11, ind 4-5 (& over), stan
2-4, cal 4-6, gonz 3-5
leans:
Hofstra +9
Miss State +7
BC +17
NMSU -2
Oregon +8
locked in: Mississippi State +7 (-110) vs. Vanderbilt

Vandy as a team, but they are banged up and I don't think Ezeli has
enough in the tank to guard Renardo Sidney right now. The home court
cowbells will be in full force, and I think MSU is a buy team right now
after a terrible start to the season. New Mexico State -2 (-110) vs. Boise State
-NMSU
is as healthy as they've been all year, it's a tough place to play and
Boise is built with guards and has struggled/will struggle against
talented bigs and NMSU has a few of them starting with Gillenwater.
Im on Vandy tonight. I would play an over if my local offered it, too. For the first time in year's, Stansbury is breaking out the man defense tonight. That, IMO, is doomsday for them. Sidney may be the worst big man defender in the country, and State has no one to guard Jeffery. Ravern is a bad defender, and has been a very poor shooter from 3(under 20%) since conference play started.
I agree it will be a tough atmosphere tonight, and Bost will have a big game on national TV. That being said, State doesn't play defense, and that is what will cost them tonight.
I look for this game to finish somewhere around 80-68 in Vandy's favor.

I'm of the belief that if you're going to bet a road team ATS you need to think they can win the game by 10 points more than the spread. I don't think I'd even consider Vandy -17 (from when I got it) and I think the home crowd will at least keep it close enough for a last-second 3pt shot to hit to save my bet like it has lost me two already this season. A bigger problem with Vandy is that they love the deep shot and you're trusting that big time on the road...

Surprisingly, I came outta the SDSU/BYU game with the same thoughts as you. More impressed than anything with SDSU. Makeup of the team causes fits, and Fisher is a genius. Not the flashiest of teams, but the fact that Jimmer went off and they still had a shot at the ballgame was more than impressive enough. Believe Leonard had a bit of the flu, but was an animal, and the altitude clearly affected their shooting. Actually probably should be pretty happy that they experienced a defeat b/c they looked lost at the end of the game. These are things that are fixable with time. Could we see a #3 SDSU against a #14 Oakland?
What. A. Match-up.

Reminds me of last year's Cornell-Temple and Richmond-St. Mary's match-ups. Was looking to bet each and every one of those teams in the tournament and ended up laying off the two winners because I was so pissed off.
I love that Fisher wasn't stubborn in only keeping Gay on him because he switched to Billy White and he was trapping Fredette, too. I really wanted to see Leonard on him, but I think it was his condition that prevented that from happening.
A few foul calls and some made FTs and that one's going to the buzzer
