What is your reasoning here? I see an MD team that has played 2 of the top teams in the country and competed the entire way, beat a good CofC team and is one of the top rebounding teams in the country - a key stat for me on the road, also a better coach vs. a team that has lost badly the only real test they have faced this season. Battle is a good player and they have some other nice pieces, but I like MD by 4+ here, it might come down to MD's ability to convert at the line (only 63%) and PSU's 3pt shooting. I would like to hear your thoughts.

I'm with you on Penn St. Maryland feeds off turnovers, Penn St. doesn't give them up. Penn St's weakness is giving up 3's, Maryland is awful from the arch. Maryland w/ Temple on deck at home too.

IMO - Battle is PSU's team, for them to win this game he has to play well. MD's size and pressure in the backcout are going to make it tough for him. I still think he gets his 15-20, but its going to come on a lot more shots than he is used to. For me, it'll be Maryland's first true road game this season and they have Temple on deck... they are horrible at free throws and horrible at shooting the three. In addition, I believe Penn State can control the pace in this game and keep it in the low 60's. Maryland works well in transition. The majority of their points come from 2 point baskets and I believe Penn State will be able to force them into taking jump shots.

what are your thoughts on the Duke/MSU game tonight? I saw the line at 11.5 this morning and now it's down to 10. It seems high to me but I also know that State has been playing pretty sloppy ball to open the season. I'm most likely staying away but I'm tempted to take the points.

I think Duke is one of the most complete teams in the country. Love their athleticism, their length and their ability to score. I do feel like they suffer when Kyrie is on the bench. He really makes a difference on this team. No one can take it to the rack like he can.
With MSU, you have to appreciate Izzo as a coach and the experience of all the players on this years squad. They too, are better when Lucas is healthy and playing. I'm a big fan of Summers/Roe/Greene.
If this were in East Lansing, I really like Sparty but I would lean Duke in this case.

However, I think while they dont shoot a great % from three, in the games i have seen them play this year they do knock down open looks. I think they will establish their inside game early with easy buckets which will force PSU to double team, opening up the outside for wide open looks. I dont think Temple is a big factor for this team in this spot. If they had to cover some number greater than 1-3 then maybe. But they only need to win (Pk). Williams is a clear coaching advantage which is big in college hoops close games, I think that offsets their poor FT shooting.
