Exactly why I don't play the half with a fav', always buy it down, cannot tell you how many times that has saved me and it did again.

 It may help here and there, but in the long run, buying points is a losing proposition. It’s best to avoid buying points….imho.

 I've been doing this a long time, not something I do all the time but I promise you  it has paid off far more than it has cost me. You pick your spots and through experience, I trust my gut. You only pay when you lose.
