This line should be -7 with Minn healthy. With Springs out -6. I came up with Minny -1.18, but what do I know...Springs is a glue guy, and Minny doesn&#x27;t have the best depth. Minny is a pretty difficult match-up for MTSU as well. The hardest thing in capping is applying/deducting points due to injury.Tough game to pinpoint.Good luck

A few of these are a bit different. Va Tech and Florida have had a bit of time now to adjust to the losses of Clarke and Egbunu respectively. Its even harder to adjust on the fly like this right before the tournament, especially for Oregon who has such little depth in the frontcourt.

I have the game capped at MTSU -1.2.I use the "Value Add" website to estimate personnel absences to the line.  Applying VA&#x27;s estimates to the projected game pace, I show that Akeem Springs absence being about 1.5 points to the line (-1 point on offense and &#x2B;0.5 points on defense).

That "chip on the shoulder" goes completely out the window once you already had a monster upset last year AND EVERYONE is sucking your dikk picking you. Bettors, (((experts))), media, everyone calling it an easy win. Like you&#x27;re Kansas against a 16 seed MTS will not win this game. I live in MN and follow the gophers very closely. Springs was a big contributor to this team and a leader in the locker room. He will travel with the team but him not being out there, especially in his former town of Milwaukee, will be heart breaking for him.. so I'm not sure how much energy he will bring.

Springs being out kills this teams depth, they only had 7 playable players before he went down, now they have 6.. and this team is always in foul trouble. Curry seemed to have the ball in his hands a lot more because of the lack of ball handling without 3 guards and he looked a bit overwhelmed to be honest. Springs also led the team in 3s made, even though I would argue he was their third best shooter.. but still hurts.

Having said all of that, I do think MN has a good chance to win but would never bet on them.. just thought I would share some home town knowledge.

I couldn&#x27;t care less what the media is touting in this game. The problem with your logic is that there isn&#x27;t a single power rating or metric that puts this game anywhere close to the numbers you&#x27;re proposing.Minnesota may win the game but it won&#x27;t be due to the fact that they were 6 points better going in. Tough game to pick. Minnesota is probably a basket better, but a basket isn't a lot. My concern would be everybody picking MTSU. Pitino can play up the "no one is respecting us" angle. Will it make a difference in the end? Who knows! But, Minnesota should definitely be feeling disrespected. I feel like the small conference teams rarely pull off the upset two years in a row. But, someone else might know better than me.
