Another big day yesterday, hitting 12 of my first 14 and finishing the day 2-0 with uconn and over 2h.....A bucket or two more by oregon 2h and syracuse winning the game are my only regrets as the under hit in oregon 2h and syr lost straight up.
I had a massive play set to go on Iowa state today, but with the recent injury I have to rethink the outcome. I have ISU in my final four.....they are dangerous but the loss of a key cog in their offensive wheel is a concern.
Okay....on to today:
Kansas:
45. That number really resonates in the back of my mind. While it has nothing to do with Kansas, it has everything to do with Stanford. In stanford's last game New Mexico had 45 points with 10:07 left in the second half in a tie game. Fast forward to 1:19 left in the game, stanford had increased that lead to 54-47 and on the next possession for new mexico they hit a 3 and cut the lead to 54-50. So Stanford's opponent doesn't score for almost a solid 9 minutes and they are still in the game? Yes, while Stanford prevailed it was more due to ineptitude by new mexico (56% from the ft line, 19% from 3) than what Stanford brought to the table. All they did was 'upset' a #7 seed as a 10. Kansas last game scored 80 points and did not even hit a 3 pt basket. They won the game with high percentage shots and using their size to slash to the hoop and rebound the ball. They played in arguably the toughest conference.
