Guys- every year there are upsets in the first round and we shake our heads in amazement. This year is no different, in fact, this year reeks of the dog. So many of these teams are so fucking even, it is crazy. Check the lines, there are 11 over 6 and 10 over 7 in the opening lines. Mighty Louisville is only minus 350, this is not a lock. My point is this, stay calm, stay focused. Take some dogs, do not be surprised in your bracket when the 5 seed falls ( this is a guarantee) Remember have fun and work at least a little on Thursday/Friday

Some other random thoughts- I keep hearing this Tom Izzo as a number one has always made the final four This is the worst stat of the year award. Those teams were all in 1999-2001 and those years were all of his number one seeds. This is just not relevant to this team and year 11 years later. Izzo has a good squad, not a lock to make the final four and in fact are probably 3 or 4-1 to make it....

Agree with everything you said but this. I take off work the first two days of the tourney every year. Should be recognized as a national holiday.
Guarantee that work production from the male workforce goes down 75% from opening tip until work is over.
Unless you're one of those dudes that doesn't like sports, they are a rare breed but I have seen them.
This is so funny- I am off this year after working the last 6, I am going to follow my own advice and not get too crazy. Almost had a plus 3 team win the first game. I always like getting points in the tourney, especially in the round of 32-

I have St Bonnies, Harvard, NC State, and X going alittle father than I should.
My bracket is kinda chalky, with the East being a free for all.
My final 4 is two #1 seeds, a #2 seed and a #3 seed.
Can't wait.
gl- I have to admit doing brackets is a crazy gig. If you pick a lot of dogs, most of the time you are left shaking your head as they fall to the chalk and your friends are all chalking your ass. If you pick the chalk, then you are looking at a tie most of the time if you get to the finals and then need some early round magic. I still prefer to go with a team like Kansas or Missouri and hope I am the only one in the pool with them and pull a sweep. Just my thoughts.

I do not chase, I never ever chase. It has cost me thousands and the lesson is learned, I will not chase.
I am chasing tonight. After watching how tight those Kids were last night on national TV, I am thinking the under first half has a shot in both games. Going to go one unit and if it loses going to chase it up for two. GL

nice post, but Xavier isn't going anywhere with "Kenny Frese" at center. he is the main thing that holds this team back, he's awful... They might win 1 game, maybe... that's about it.

There will be a few big upsets this year and the X-men wouldn't really be a surprise if they did make the Sweet 16 as they have made it 2 years in a row and return the most important guy in Holloway.
That said, they do have the potential to make it once again and should easily roll the Irish. Round 2 is a different story as this Duke team is severely underrated coming into this tournament. No one is talking about Duke and they have a team that can be lights out shooting the ball.
That said, I think Duke will roll to the Elite 8 after beating out Xavier and UNLV in two tough games.
My biggest shockers are an 11 seed and a 12 seed making 2 big upsets. There is always a 12 seed upset. Don't forget that......
Also, if you follow the L5 years of the tournament, you will see a clear indicator as to how the upsets will happen......
Research, research, research........
Then throw it all out the window and crumple your brackets.....
LOL
Best of luck to everybody this MARCH MADNESS!!

Does this mean you are gonna say told you so when it happens, or did you accidentally hit the delete button before you mentioned which teams those will be?
