Some of my day 1 highlights…..haven’t slept and need to be back in 6 hours. I’ll just list my personal highlights at this point..
-sitting behind Coach Roy Williams as his Heels reeled in the Flyers in one helluva finish… I saw him tell his wife while down a ton and after a Tarheel Rebound>back up for two “we’re ok…we’re gonna be ok”. -also sitting in my row and behind “tarheel nation” is a Duke fan dressed to the top in camouflage Duke Blue matched with his 10 year old son but Dad is acting a fool. Literally screaming “Miss it!!” on all shots, free throws, threes, rebounds, silly stuff. An 80 year old grandma gave him the finger after they won!! Kinda respect the Duke bra just for hating so much on the heels. I get that. -Memphis was electric, have size, skill, a PG and showed toughness coming back in OT to win. -Mr Dan Hurley my favorite coach was absolutely wild and the timing of that T lost UCONN the game..falling on the ground, being held back by his Assistant (well done btw) and returning to harass the Refs over and over,…growling F bombs he was asking for one…which should have been given earlier by the stripes to gain control with 6 minutes to play and not be given too late to decide the game. Still Dan knew and that was a dick move by him for the Team, Fans, etc. -Sparty, my god I think the rims are still shaking, The athleticism blew me away for a Big 10 Team. - I was front row behind Bilas and the crew…Gave him a “long live Big Red the Grateful Deadhead!” Then saw he had ear phones and couldn’t hear a thing lol -back to Sparty….a scout for Memphis standing next to me says “bro, watch #55 Coen Carr…6’5” 225 lb sophomore with a…get this, 51” VERT! Whaaaaa. Love the guard play although Buffs brought Zip. -Was a couple feet from getting a dap from Magic Johnson. lol. I felt like I kid again…hes rolling out of the arena and STOPS to give Danny Manning CU Coach a hug and props. He handed out some fist bumps to the good people. I will say Magic looked like he’s been hitting the all cheeseburger diet! Hahaha. Electric smile that will give you the warm fuzzy feeling every time. - Dunno if you Sports fans have heard of the Mr. Shep Gordon. A maui legend the coolest zen Man on the planet.. i had the privilege of sitting next to during the Auburn game.. if you know him, you know that no photos were taken and very few words…his energy tho. Chaaay Hu. “The Best Day of the Year!” He told me. lol. I absolutely agree. -War Eagle can score fast and shut it down quickly. Kelly was impressive when he played and Bruce Pearl dominated the court like only he can.

Love it!!! Thanks for the entertaining thread. I was there in 2015 and had an absolute blast. What a day of basketball!!! Memphis was unreal yesterday and that’s the team Heels beat earlier in exhibition game. Guard play guard play guard play! Heels 3 guards combined for 68 points. Nuts. Enjoy your holiday and I will be looking forward to more of your posts!
