Chime in and say no the public is heavily on a given team so I'll play the other side....
 
Word to the wise: Move to the beat of your own drum, do your own homework and you decide for yourselves what team works 4u. It's incredible to me that some of you will actually be so swayed based on what someone else is picking--i saw this post where someone was actually trying to post a list of who the best cappers are--maybe with the expectation that there will be some pecuniary benefit to mirroring (following) what others post on a give day.
 
As the quintesential contrarian my words of advice is that there is no substitute to doing your own research and marching to the beat of your own drum.

Im going to have to respectfully disagree here. Yes there is absolutely something to be said for doing your own homework WHICH SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE REGARDLESS. However, when you see the same people capping who are making good bets and your own ideas are right in line with them it should make you feel more secure in your selections. I cap my own games anyway, but when i see other members like Bird, Puck, and MoneyMaker that have the same lines as me I definitely am more inclined towards that game. Theres a reason its called "smart betting" Cappers analyze all the angles and know more than the average better. So while I do believe that everyone no matter what should always go with their gut and make their own picks, it makes it easier when they are in line with people like us who live and breathe the sport.

I'm sorry, but aren't you the nerd that came in here and started a thread "challenging" the best capper here and then when everyone laughed at you, you bitched everyone out went against your word and all around made an ass of yourself? And we're supposed to respect anything you have to say?

How dare you insult what goalinebob or ohcanadiens has tried to do without knowing how successfully in the past these top capper threads have been. These have been very successful in past seasons in the NFL and was AMAZINGLY successful in NCAAF where I think it was hitting near 70%. Why don't you give it a chance before you dog it, you've done nothing but come here and place a negative tone on this community.

consensus threads are great! obviously cap your own games but when 12 people pick 1 game and no one opposes except you more often then not 12 peoples feelings will beat your feeling on a game because everyone caps a game differently so to me 12 different angles beats out your 1 nine times out of ten

Everyone should do their own research on the games they play. It's the best way to improve. But if no one ever considered anyone else's opinions on a given game, forums wouldn't exist. If you personally gain nothing from coming here, why are you wasting everyone's time?
