Let's slow down for a moment here ,,,,, yes yes KENTUCKY looked impressive in their first 2 games..averaging 95 ppg giving up 65 ppg. against a 16 seed and a decent team in wake who picked up wins (@gonzaga, Richmond(ot) Xavier(ot) and maryland)
Cornell was equally impressive by beating a 4 seed in wisconsin a team that beat the likes of (Mary, Duke, Marquette Ohio st.) and a 5 seed Temple who got wins over (NOVA, Xavier, Va.Tech, Rich) by an average of 83 - 67. I think these have been two of the more dominant teams thus far.
As far as Cornell won't have anything defensively,,,they average less points ppg agaisnt 63.4 ,, then UK does , they give up 65.3 ,,, Granted Conference play is much tougher in the SEC, but Cornell played some decent out of conference opp. ( 2 - of the 1 seeds.) Foote can eat up the paint allowing his teamates to key in on passing lanes and try to create turnovers,,They ave 15 steals in the first 2 rounds,,1 more then UK.
As far as Foul trouble goes..Cornell was subbing players in and out every chance they could get agaisnt temple, for offensive and defensive possessions, TO STAY OUT OF FOUL TROUBLE!!! Cornell is 9-10 deep easy...they have played more players this year than you are allowed to DRESS in an NCAA game. They do need to keep a few KEY PLAYERS out of foul trouble,,,but the guys are IVY LEAGUERS ,,,their Basketball IQ is pretty good!!!!!!
BESIDES,,CORNELL committed 26 fouls in the first 2 games....
KENTUCKY committed 45!!!!
24 FOULS in ONE GAME !! (that almost equals cornell's TOTAL)
Cornell has 8 seniors,,,,,this team has all the experience it needs to know what they need to do.. to WIN this game. They match-up ALOT better then people think in this one....If I compared Cornell and Northern Iowa i see 2 teams capable of doing the same thing, beating any team in the field.
