im not a big pitt fan but they got screwed. refs 1st call was good but both times refs should of swallowed the whistles. especially when they were tied. DAMN ZEBRAS!!!!

Most refs are marginally competent to begin with. I don't want them thinking they have the authority to decide when to call clear fouls and when not to.

What won the game for Butler was the fact that Matt Howard has figured out that he can draw an offensive foul every time by flopping like a Raggedy Ann doll.
Something has to be done overall with this flopping epidemic. If you take a flying flop that isn't justified by the contact, you should be charged with a foul yourself if not a technical.

Let me get this right- Pitt had to make what would've been an almost half court shot in order to win. The ref called a foul after the Butler player bumped into him. Most refs would've swallowed the whistle right there and the game would have ended- unless Pitt makes a 1 in a 100 shot. Pitt then proceeds to miss the 2nd free throw and the Pitt player OBVIOUSLY grabs the arm of the Butler player. That was a foul: no doubt about it. The ref is somehow now supposed to look the other way? You can't have it both ways.
