Worst College basketball beat you can remember a

Just had to endure an all timer with Santa Clara -5... 

Only worse beat I can think of... I had Purdue +4 against Virginia in the 2019 tournament... lost 80-75 in OT on a one in a million play to force overtime.

Loyola Chicago 2H (-7.5) Last second 3 by Valparaiso misses ( win by 8)

The bad:

Marquette backdoor cover (-13)

Auburn backdoor cover (-14)

Stephen Austin (-19)- Chicago state layup with 10 seconds left.

Gonzaga- 1H (-17) 3 pter with 3 seconds left by a 29%, 6-9 center.

Gonzaga -20 Teaser- Why did Watson shoot the ball with 16 seconds left- there was still 11 seconds on shot clock- OfCourse Pepperdine score meaningless layup, to them, not me.College basketball is a Fuqfest.

Morehead State (-9) they win by 8. They gave up 2 separate technical fouls in last 3

To many to remember. Recent ones, Pepperdine making that 3 pointer at the end of the half yesterday and Creighton making that 3 pointer at the end of the half today. Nothing like taking in the ass 2 days in a row.

 Omg yep Pepperdine kills me... I had them +7.5 against UCLA last year... double OT loss and non cover. Forgot about that one

I also remember a game 2 years ago.

after half time they came out to shoot 3 free throws as the opponent had been fouled on a three- first half points

 Worst college beat. It was the nat championship game 2 or 3 years back. I was in one of those 100 square pools- $100 a square. My son and I shared a square. $5000.00 for each half winner. I had the first half with like 5 sec left. Then the ball was stolen and after a few sec of goofy dribble the shooter goes in the lane at the top of the key and throws up a Hail Mary. It bounces on the rim and few times and falls in with .9 seconds left. So I lost. 2nd half comes around and my son has it with like 8 sec left. The team is up someone throws a three and hits it with like 2 sec left so he lost by 1. If it was a 2 pointer he would have gotten it. That was a rough day.

Many moons ago I had Houston -9.5 vs East Carolina. East Carolina down 13 with less than five seconds left. They hit a three. Houston calls a timeout for some inexplicable reason. They have none left. Technical foul. East Carolina hits the free throw. Game over. 

I watched it happen live on ESPN2. It was baffling and heart breaking. Like why???

Years ago i had VCU in a late season game . . . large ml bet . . . .they were up 4 after hitting one of two free throws i believe with a few seconds left . . . other team goes down and hits a three . . .and ref calls a ticky tack foul . . .guy makes the free-throw . . .game goes overtime . . .and of course VCU loses . . it was a several thousand dollar swing . . .painful !

Tonight in the 2nd half of the Michigan/ Iowa game I live bet under 86.5 and the free throws at .01 after the instant replay put the game over. That was pretty shitty

This one still hurts. On Monday. Kansas vs    Ok st. I had Kansas TT over 76.5. It’s not that they scored a total of 76 to end the game. But they had 76 points with 5:11 to go in the game. What in the world!!?? Couldn’t score 1 fricking point with 5:11 to go in the game?  My god!!! I’m still steaming!

Of course  no explanation abput why this was such a bad beat

So they let up a meaningless layup as time expired tol ose by 4 for giving 5.5.

 That game was fixed by Santa Clara.  They stopped playing defense the final 2 minutes and the last 3 seconds of the game they were at a win/push (depending in the book), and Loy-Mary knew they could not win with a 2, but did an uncontested layup to kill the cover.  There was no other reason to take the layup or give it up other than to beat the spread…and Santa Clara let it happen. 

Not a beat but a win for me and I forget who it was. Maybe the Bonnie's? Anyways, the game had a very low under and the live odds had the game going way over. Long story short, they didn't score in the last 3-4 minutes and didn't foul down 1. The full game under hit for that game due to the scoring drought and no fouling  even though down 1..

 Up by 6 with like 1 second.. they run a play for a full court 80 foot pass for a layup at the buzzer to lose by 4.... oops

not even a chance to win the game. Sick

They were a 7 point dog so would have had to be ML but the worst loss in CBB history was Northern Iowa against Texas A&M in the 2016 tourney. They were up 12 with 35 seconds left and lost hahahahaha

2013

Iona (-4) was cruising to a win and cover in the 2012 MAAC Championship Game. The Gaels led by eight points with six seconds left. Then disaster struck.

Manhattan hit a three as time expired, but officials ruled there was still time on the clock, so Iona received a technical foul when its bench rushed the court.

The Jaspers hit both free throws and covered +4.

I was trying to remember who was playing this game. I was a victim too. I remember getting so pissed. I was in one of those stretches where I couldn’t pick my nose to! What a joke that was and the officials come on! I’m glad you put this one in. Thanks

I take you back to Round 2 of the 2016 tournament.  I had Northern Iowa on the ML +280 vs. Texas A&M.  Northern Iowa had just beat Texas in the first round on a buzzer beater 75-72.  NIU leads 69-57 with 35 seconds left.  A slew of gone bad inbounds plays ends in a 71-71 end of regulation.  NIU goes on to lose 92-88 in double OT.  My $100 for $280 turned into a bad Benjamin loss.  In retrospect taking the +7 might have been a better play

To date the largest blown lead with that amount of time left  I just watched it again on YouTube to relive the agony.  That is March MADNESS

Luckily,i have been on the right side of backdoor beats,but just the other night on wed,i had the UNC-Pitt over 141 and thought it was a push. A UNC player hit a layup at the buzzer when he rebounded a meaningless UNC heave for a 3 and i got the over. 

Duquesnse vs Penn State a few years ago. Duquesne coach gets a double technical at the end for going bezerk. Penn state hits 6 free throws in a row to end the game and cover. Mind you, Penn state was about 50% from the free throw line prior to that. I shouldve stopped betting right there.
