They are replaying the BYU Tulsa game alot this week on the various cable networks. I caught some of it last night. Before betting, you might want to watch how they play against BYU.
Defense - Their pass rush didn't get any serious pressure that I saw, BYU ran the ball for 10+ yards on numerous occasions sometimes even back to back running plays they would get 7-10 yards each time. Their DB's are decent, but BYU was still able to complete alot of tight throws and even some not well thrown balls.
Offense - their O-line wasn't very impressive, Smith got sacked a few times or had to scramble alot to keep from getting sacked. I didn't notice how well they ran the ball.
QB - Smith was 21 of 35, with 5 TD's. Watching him he seemed wild with some of his passes, trying to force them or just throwing it away to avoid the sack. Overall, his was not as impressive and commanding a performance as 5 td's makes it sound.
1st half line is +13.5 If you like Tulsa to cover the game spread you might consider OU at the half.
Overall I think people are giving way too much credit to Tulsa, I wasn't impressed after watching them. Just a thought, if you're willing to invest your money, why not 2-3 hours to see them play before betting. Anyway I'm on OU for the 1st half and I can get 21.5 for the game, so I'm on that too. Waiting to see what the O/U is before laying anymore.
ive seen both of tulsas games and oklahomas -miami game. i was all over oklahoma against miami. with all due respect you are a sooners fan playing an instate rival, i am an unbiased observer trying to make money. there will not be a week you dont think oklahoma crushes someone and on paper they should crush everyone including texas (which i think they will) just not this week. cant expect a freshman qb to win by 40 everyweek, just not gonna happen.

i watch the whole game lastweek i'm not too impress with tulsa. Smith can be careless with the ball and BYU did run the ball well against them. and the only reason why byu lost that game was the fact that BYU slow secondary were simply getting outrunned by the tulsa's wideouts and the fact that byu kept shooting themselves on the foot with penalties which we all know they are can be drive killers. as i said i get a good enough chalk i'll lean tulsa but for a backdoor cover.

When the lines are favorable to bet against them. Util then, don't discount how good a team OU is. My feeling is that Texas was gonna be their toughest, but after watching Texas play the last three games, they aren't looking so hot anymore. It's a long season and right now the Sooners are a rolling ball of butcher knives, enjoy the ride.

north texas, miami, and utah state, lol.
if i lose this game i will be the first one to congratulate you and say i was wrong. but after looking at their schedule this really could be their toughest game. texas is not at the same level, this game will prepare them for texas tech, i really think they will run the table, but not without a test.

yea really...you dont think oklahoma 21.5 a little fishy...i mean if vegas wanted to hand out money then yea it wouldn't be..but this line doesn't add up!...on the other hand i believe tulsa is still a decent team and has some leadership to keep them in it..tulsa's best team yet and there gonna come out fired up

i would also like to add one other point to this game. tulsa's offense is in much better physical shape than okies defense for the sheer fact okie hasnt had to play defense that much this year, a lot of 3 and outs against these cupcakes. tulas has been running up and down the field since spring ball. someone made the point tulsas defense will be tired in the second half, its the other way around. oklahomas defense will be spread out the whole game running all around. they will be the tired ones in the second half.
All I can say is...WOW! Talk about the biggest load of BS that I have ever read. Oklahoma has better athletes that will probably be better conditioned than Tulsa's players, on both sides of the ball.
Most people here are dishing out assumptions. Where are the statistics? OU has only played CUPCAKES?! Last time I checked, a Miami Hurricane team without an offense is still a challenge.
Oh yeah...whoever said Tulsa was the best team Oklahoma will face all season is smoking crack.

there is no "always" in betting, but ill side with vegas anyday, irregardless thats not why i'm on this game, i explained why.
I read your reasons. Paul Smith is a good QB, yes...but one guy isn't going to win the game for Tulsa. This Tulsa team has no idea what kind of speed they face on defense this Saturday. And, since you mentioned Tulsa's last contest with the Sooners, I should also bring up the fact that Bomar was starting at QB for that game, and that particular OU team was coming off a shocking, opening season loss. Totally different circumstances this time around, with OU steamrolling it's way into Tulsa, pissed off because they fell in the polls even though they won. Stoops knows that OU needs to continue winning big if they want a shot at the National Championship...and Stoops has no qualms about keeping his foot on the gas.
I'm on Oklahoma -20.5 BIG!

does oklahoma have better athletes?? no doubt. never said they didnt.
you must think texas is good. i agree on paper they are a much bigger test, but oklahoma will shred them. and after this game oklahoma will be prepared for texas tech is what i said. and um miami you say??? the team that struggled with that awful marshall team, yes miami is a cupcake for oklahoma my friend. you just come back on saturday morning and we can discuss the game and see how much BS i actually wrote. i will be the fist to admit if im wrong.

I played football for 8 years...I think I know what I'm talking about when it comes to conditioning. Just because a defense forces opposing offenses into many 3 and outs, does not mean they are not as well conditioned. If anything, they are fresh and healthy from not taking so much punishment.
I can tell you one thing for sure...playing a physical Hurricane team is tiring, so I promise you...OU's conditioning will be just fine. Yes, I do think Texas is good. Do I think they are world beaters? Absolutely not. But they are a good team.
The final score of a game does not always indicate how physical and tough the teams are. Tulsa benefitted from a ton of BYU miscues, turnovers, and mistakes last week. If not for those, BYU probably wins. Do you really think OU will play that sloppily on National TV, when they're trying to get respect from the AP and the rest of the college football nation?
Say what you want about OU's schedule. The defense is giving up a meager average of 43 yards/game on the ground, and 135 yards/game through the air. Oh yeah...the defense has also only given up 2 TD's this season. Do I think Tulsa can score? Yeah, sure. Do I think they can score more than twice? Probably not. Adrennaline wears off in a big game after the first few plays or series. After that, it's all preparation and execution...and you can bet OU will be ready.
