I watched his tape….. 1. He is relatively small, which isn’t a problem if your in the class of kyler Murray or a Bryce young, but he isnt athletic enough to offset my concern for his size. 2. Never scans his blindside and stares receivers down, he will get decapitated in the SEC by a linesman that is as fast as the receivers he’s throwing to . 3. Puts way too much air under his passes , I mean Stetson Bennett fair catch hang time. This usually is the by product of an arm that isn’t elite. 4. Scrambles too much, when his first option isn’t available he seems to comfortable tucking and running, when your getting the hype he has I need my qb to scramble to throw like Bryce or trevor. you can’t train a qb to be comfortable in the pocket you either are or not and he isn’t , he either hits an open receiver, his first read or he’s tucking. Speaking of which when you come across a prodigy it’s obvious, and I can know everything I need about a hs qb in the first 15 seconds in the video. The first time I watched trevor Lawrence high school tape it took 3 passes for me to firmly believe that to this day my be the greatest high school film I’ve ever seen. This kid may be legacy but he is no prodigy. If his name was Arch Hudson he would be a two star qb who couldn’t start at any sec school as a freshman. every defense he faces will salivate the opportunity to hand a manning his hat. This maybe a low blow but let’s keep it real, his father is the only non pro of the family so he’s not exactly from the fruit of a great qb. He’s gonna be a burden to whatever school he goes to because he’s expected to start right away, and it’s going to be a real uncomfortable situation when he’s takes a hit in November , loses his job to injury and then said backup comes in plays as good slightly better and now you have a qb controversy. Watch his film and please tell me where I’m wrong. This kid is a product of the company owned by Walter Disney , and will succumb to the weight of his name and expectations. Any school he goes to will be a betting gold mine to fade because “joe public” will hear Manning!!

Oh and another thing. Throws off his back foot way too much and doesn’t step into his throws. And this is in the face of 5”11 Dlineman who weigh 210 and just got out of chemistry class.

Relatively small? Arch was 6'4 last I checked in on his progress.
He's a junior. He'll be 6'5" and around 225 by the time he shows up on a college campus. You don't think with 4 more years of development, he will be a decent pro prospect? Got it.
I will agree with one thing. T.Law looked great in high school.

This is a televised shit show and I feel bad for the kid, this is one of the most barbaric sports in the world and the mannings are doing everything short of requiring opposing teams to touch him with two hands. He has god awful pocket instincts that can’t be coached. Forget arm talent which he severely deficient, his flight or fight instincts all indicate flight. Say what you may but it doesn’t take long to see what a qb is, and when “pressure” hits the pocket, he never steps into it. His FIRST instinct is to use his athleticism and escape. This is a red flag for a pocket qb. Especially someone that doesn’t come from a lineage of track stars, he’s barely evading the pop Warner level talent as it is. He is going to get smoked routinely at the next level whenever he has to make a read beyond his first. He never scans his blindside I mean never . He simply locks on to his first and second read. Seriously if I were objectively evaluating his pure talent there is no way you could rate him higher than a two star with a straight face. I get it , it comes off as if I’m bashing the kid and I’m not , if anyone refutes this please specify where I’m wrong . You can’t because I’m not. the only reason this won’t be a Tate martell level of a bust is because there is simply too much money and respect behind the manning name to allow it to happen so they will parachute his arrival to the nfl as gentle as you will see in this lifetime. I must repeat I’m not a fan of any team, for the last 5 years I have spent 14 hours every Saturday in a Sportsbook (4 in Vegas, one in jersey) losing hair follicles or (watching them transition from pepper to salt) ONLY betting cfb, it’s easy to spot a bust, this is one.

Well Sark the whisperer should be able to teach him how to stand in the pocket then right..
but seriously, situations like this always seem baffling to me when it comes to the mental side of playing QB.. especially this one because how is it possible that you don't know every little trick or at least much more than any other kids your age playing QB when your Uncles are Hall of Famers and legends. Literally 20 minutes from either Eli or Peyton one on one would change a kids life in the film room, and they are his own family. It doesn't make any sense

he hasn’t really improved past 2 years & that’s concerning, seems like a great kid & Sark is the man I’d want helping him, I don’t know about “bust” but he’s not close to being the best qb in his class, his ranking is not deserved at all, I put him as low end 4 star
I love Sark so I’ll be cheering for Arch to succeed , I hope he becomes a real Manning once he gets to Austin

OP knows better - and is no stranger to hyperbole....
Watching clips it's impossible to tell - it does seem he's WAY over-hyped. I hate the goofy Mannings (cept Archie) anyway - no reason to judge him yet, unless at a bar slobbering drunk .....
It will be interesting to see how Sark manages the situation ..... off a so-so 8-4/7-5 yr - why would Card or Ewers stick around? The job is gonna be handed to AM most likely - could be a disaster (A&M / K Murray) style.
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.

You are discounting the name and work ethic of this kid…he will be given more chances to become a good play than others and I fully believe he will be a solid player at the college level

A year later and his very first throw of his first spring game was EXACTLY what I outlined. Doesn’t step into throws and can’t make a throw past his first read. Carry on

Totally agree, uncle Peyton screwed him up bad .. His whole approach needs to be reworked for his mechanics to fit the modern game but nobody got time for that ... UT should look elsewhere for a backup QB this year .. and what happened to Ewers he's regressed to like maybe a low 3 star now??? .. I'd suggest they send a bag of money over to DJ Ugiungallele or Hank Bachmeir.. see if either of them would be interested in being QB1 for the horns this year ..

In all due respect Bridge, what the hell are you talking about...Ewers is going to torch the Big 12 this season...He was a goofball and inconsistent the 2nd part of the season...The dude is on now...Alabama is going down in week 2, at TLoosa...Yes, I am a homer...And Manning will redshirt this season...Maalik Murphy will be Ewers backup in 2023, and will probably see the field quite a bit, and may beat out Manning for 2024...I don't this hate from knowledgeable cappers...I guess Texas will just have to show you...

Watched Manning in the spring game and he looked awful....No way he is a 5* prospect....No arm talent...Looked like a poor man's Quinn Ewers...Bust...Hope I am wrong but...If u are good and no matter if you are a true freshman....U show flashes....Manning looked like a 4th string walk on QB in the spring game....
