Better defense bowl trend

Got this from here a few years back. I know that it did pretty well that year and I believe in 2018. 
the trend is using Massey ratings and whoever has the higher ranked D you bet the spread

plays:

App state -21

nevada +3

BYU -7

GA souther -6.5 

FAU +8

i had mentioned in another thread..... better run team (offense and defense....... total yards, ypc, even reliance on run)...... basically, passing game is more difficult in bowl games with alot less preparation.

better defense sounds good too...... and i think i remember that.

Just checked out Massey Ratings.

Didn't know of them.

Looks like the lower the #, the better the team.

Massey is great for matchups.  Can choose any team not just teams playing. Looking like the first will be a winner.

when betting bowls have to also take into account the team and if they get up for these bowls as the greats say. App state has won the past 5 bowls.

We are now at 3-0 on the trend. We will be on ga southern and FAU as best a number you can get

will be tossing a .5 unit on the FAU ML, if a team covers they usually win S/U

Nice info. But Memphis has the better RUN D and tackling. We all saw what they did to Navy. I do like the Georgia South play though.

even though fau has a better defense ranking than memphis..........fau played a really weak scheldule when it comes to opponents offense production. fau gets smacked when they play somewhat against a decent offense. 

i remember that better bowl  defense system from years back also .... like many many years back...........it always did well.

I'm using massey and a few other statisticians, then averaging them out based on better defenses. Problem is covid gives us a small sample size. 

We've been on the same picks coincidentally. See if it continues.

System now at 4-2 losing the past two. Houston was despicable yesterday and FAU the day before a reveiver tripped when he could of scored at the end.

system says the next play is Marshall I just got it at +6.5.

Friends...There is no substitution for hard work, how much is a pick worth if it only takes about three seconds to pick?

A lot of REALLY REALLY smart people have tried beat this game... Thinking that you can use just a couple data points to consistently pick winners is absurd and quite frankly..... embarrassing

Using that logic every close game is a bad beat...
