Texas -16.5 Maryland on the road should will get outscored and over powered in the second half. The Terps run defense will get exposed again. Texas 38-17
N. Dame -15 Temple will have tremendous drop off this year and Notre Dame could actually surprise some people. Temple- new coach, QB, RB, and their top 6 tacklers are gone. Their secondary and WR corps will be good but Notre Dame should roll 41-20
Michigan -4 The Michigan defense will kill the Florida offense- Zaire is an upgrade but this offense has been putrid for some time. The Florida secondary should keep them in the game but Michigan 27-13
Ok. St. -16.5 The Cowboys offense should be electric this year and their QB could very well win the Heisman- Tulsa loses the QB, RB, and top 2 receivers from last year's team- Ok. St's defense will be another week point but Cowboys roll 48-23
Leans- Ohio St., N.C. St, Houston, Louisvilee team total over, Boston College, Memphis
Good luck everyone!!

Not knocking and not saying all of sides don't cover, but every single one of your picks and leans will be/are heavy public sides.
Good luck.
that's a good point for later in the season...this is week 1...the public, books, sharps, don't have any data points...plus, from my perspective, books view a portfolio of games from an entire season standpoint...and, are probably willing to take disproportionate action on public faves in the first few weeks to reel in the action, knowing that long term, those public squares will stay consistent and the books will be able to recoup in subsequent weeks from these big public plays...So, I would advise everyone to cap the games based on the merits (talent, coaching, motivation) and minimize the impact that a particular team is a public team versus not...

blowoutgm - I really like the N Dame play. Traditionally, that would indeed be a public team...but, coming off a 4-8 season, not as much. I think with Kelley on the hot seat, the Irish will TCB...It may be closer than you like, but I think N Dame will cover...
I am with you on Ok St as well. Gundy is a bit of a kook, and even with an elite O, is lack of attention to detail on D sometimes facilitates a bdc. However, with the interviews that I have seen of Gundy, he seems almost cocky and for confident. Plus, you throw in that CMU debacle, plus Tulsa happen to destroy CMU in the bowl, Tulsa integrated a new QB, and the fact that Tulsa is 50 miles away from Stillwater (little brother rival) along with no real lookahead for Ok St, I think Ok St will cover. I think Ok St D will be better than many expect...
Texas - some think that Texas will come out hyped, but maybe a little nervous and thus sloppy. Maryland is young, but improved over last year. They have a good coach. I am still on the fence whether as a homer I should back my horns in week 1. Honestly, I think that there week 2 matchup with SJSU is a much bigger mismatch. And some good cappers on this site like Texas in week 3 at USC +12, with SC coming up a hard game (win or lose) against Stanford. GL

Best of Luck this season , May it be your GREATEST EVER
Irish should come out full of Piss and vinegar ...Temple may fall off the table this year...
Oklahoma St should be tons of fun to watch ...Could be Gundy's best squad in a long time ...
DISAGREE STRONGLY ON Florida is my 2nd largest play for week 1 ....Just does not seem like a good match up for a Green Wolverines squad right off the Jump
Texas vs Maryland should be a Over play for me
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

You may be right with the Florida bet- it is more of a bet against Florida than for Michigan if you can understand what I am trying to say- I do not trust the Gator offense at all- I just don't see how they can score- Michigan is green but their defense should be nasty and I don't like Florida on the road to open the season(even in Dallas) I will have to pay to see Florida impress me this year-
Best of luck to you this year!!!

I get exactly what you are saying but I always find that I bet heavy favorites in week 1. The key is finding which ones are going to cover. I am confident I will end up on the winning side but that is why they play the games! Week 2 tends to be the same most years(for me anyway- lot of public favs) but after that I usually don't play the heavy public favorites. Good luck to you this year!

I am not a fan of Herman but I think he will have his team playing hard and he will try to impress the alumni right out of the gate. Texas has the talent and if he is as good as people think, then Texas should cover this game easily. From what I have read, the Maryland defensive line dominated the Maryland offensive line. Texas should have a field day with the Maryland offense- I also like the fact the an East coast team will be playing in the Texas heat- something to think about! Good luck this year buddy!

STILL trying to justify playing ALL favorites are you LH?...........
ALL THAT MATTERS....is what 'should' the line be? / what is a fair /market number?......if you don't KNOW the answer of course....it's tough........AND how much (extra).....are you paying for betting teams EVERYBODY else likes as well
* HINT : do your own PR .....as I suggested....and YOU will know
$ if you missed it.....start with the B12.....1st use the GOY numbers...then Bill C's score predictions....check with Sagarin / Power Rank.....(avoid Steele and ESPN)....take those > add YOUR thoughts.....
* POOF!.....within a few hours....you have a dam solid set of numbers
HERE?......pretty much every team he listed are (CURRENTLY)....popular / public teams....the ONLY question is.....is he paying a PREMIUM.....or getting a fair number?
$ Looks like to me.....he (mostly) is getting a fair number.......so no big deal really......too many assumptions for me.....but most of those he likes return with an EDGE / something to prove * only problem I have is......don't like HERMAN?......wtf blowout.....

I also like the fact the an East coast team will be playing in the Texas heat-
* couldn't BELIEVE this is an 11:00am game....assumed it would be at night.......a relative 'cool' summer here....but still 95-100 heat index maybe.........2H play something to look into for sure
Maybe even bigger edge....that SJSU game it seems ....is at 2:30p
