What a weekend. NYE was pretty nuts, followed up by some great football games and then some clunkers on Sunday. Brunch was the best part of the weekend, hangover pizza is the reason I get drunk. Going today with:
15 Units Va Tech +3.5
This one is also no surprise, been looking forward to this one since the matchups were dropped. Its a rare case of me taking the worse coach, though, as I think Harbaugh is a top 3 CFB coach right now.
I am looking forward to fading Stanford, who is the biggest fraud in the post Jan 1 games. They dont have one impressive win this year. Their win at Arizona State was their best all year. Color me unimpressed.
I also get to fade Stanford and their team speed - or complete lack thereof. They have some of the slowest LBs in the country. I think this is going to be a huge problem for them here. But forget the LBs, the overall team speed of VT should cause problems here.
I dont expect Luck to get shut-out, but VT does have some of the better DBs Luck will have faced this year. Hosley and Carmichael are some of the best in the nation at their positions. Taylor is also one of the country's most efficient passers, though, and he should get his yards.
The Hokies have done this before - they have opened 0-2 only to rattle off 10 straight to go to a bowl - beating Texas in the 1995 Sugar Bowl.
I just think this team has the stars aligned. They have run off a hell of a streak against some impressive competition. They have done it on the road, on a neutal field etc. They just keep finding ways to win. With the special teams always playing a bigger factor than people expect in games like this, you cant not like Beamer-Ball.
Going with a team that is just as talented as their opponent, but faster and getting points. Cant go wrong - lets hope.

Yessir. Been looking forward to this one too. When bowls lines came out, there were two doggies that I fell in love with, Tulsa and V Tech. Tulsa came through and now its time to pound the Hokies. BOL.

Yup. I don't think Stanford has really faced a QB like tyrod Taylor this year except Darron Thomas. All the QBs in the Pac 10 are pocket passers.

Just love this matchup for VT. One of the best matchups they could have asked for out of all the BCS bowls. It works out great in their favor, imo.
GL to everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Hammer - I saw you post that elsewhere, but I wasnt saying that Stanford didnt play anybody, they had to play Oregon. I was just saying they havent beaten anyone. They dont have one impressive win.
I just think VT put together a much more impressive season. They played something like 8 bowl teams and Boise on a Neutral Field.
I also love the matchup for VT. GL with your wagers and your opinions.
Just got VT +4
