Most entertaining Saturday. Surprised how easily Northwestern offense moved the ball on Huskers. Fitz very conservative until they fell behind. Thompson looked like CJ Stroud the first half and then a walk on freshman the 2nd half. And that onside kick, OH MY!! Another Husker "shoot yourself moment".
Northwestern with bye and North Dakota on deck for Huskers.
FYI, Harbaugh says McNamara to start week 1 and JJ McCarty to start week 2. Week 3 to be decided.

I clock the favs going 4-2 .. 5-2 if you count 1pt fav UNT as a fav .. Degens made a monster comeback after Neb turned into a cold shower but ILL and then Vandy resupplied those bankrolls YUUGE assuming they didn't all hedge out after that first Hawaii TD drive..
Interesting to see how yesterday's results impact the lines heading into this week since its really mostly unrelated info, tough to imply we saw any macro trends in action yesterday .. but even w the favs rockin I'd guess the lines still tighten up a little and totals trend down too maybe after Over went 2-4 w I guess 1 tie in the Ill/Wyo .. anyone watching that would consider that more of an under than an over... also W.KY/AP maybe a more touted FCS total went under the opening and obvi closing line 66/74, WKY kneeling it on the doorstep of another TD probably seemed like a classy move to nobody ..
Miss State opened at like 8 back in early summer and rocketed to 17.5 not back to 14.5, that makes sense in a way although I think Miss St should really murder them too hope we get it under the 2 TD's .. Pirate is prob lacking trust in this spot after a couple huuuge dud non-con games LY and super dud bowl showing .. Cincy / Ark down to 6 was opened 8/8.5 i think was 7 forever .. GA-State /S.Car down to 11 from think 13 ish before, that makes sense, think its fair to say Panthers are every bit of 2-0 vs the SEC in 3 years while actually being 1-1 ..
Hope SMU drops back under 10 because everyone loves N.Texas all of a sudden .. didn't see H2 but nothing seemed all that impressive in H1 .. UTEP cruising on the first couple drives ended w 0 points and shutout in H2 they seem even less impressive .. think NT gets killed but nothing to bet the farm on ..

UNC sure struggling a bit of a dog fight with FAMU there .. degen radio was blasting how FAMU was down a ton of players, saw most of H1 and I thought they looked competent throwing against UNC's D .. Heels 300 pass 300 rush and gave up zero sacks .. maybe best sign for them at least for the App matchup is FAMU didn't get much of anything on the ground .. they did give up 7 passes of 15 yds or more to those guys .. eeeek ..
Mike Wright Vandy QB .. 1 man army .. 13/21 passing 146 2-0 and 13 carries 163 2 TDs .. 309 yds 4TDs .. hawaii 0 sacks / 0 TFLs .. yikes .. Hawaii O 26 runs 55 passes .. pretty quick to snap it .. QB1 18/35, QB2 10/20 .. rough .. RBs 1,2,3 20car 125 yds 6/carry not bad bad ..
Gavin Hardison 21/48 .. 43% .. Hit a few big ones, 2 WR's over 120 yds .. but wayyyyy too many whiffs to be effective .. RB 1,2,3 28 carr 90 yds .. not good .. Def zero sacks 0 TFL's .. UTEP and UNT D's combined per ESPN: 1 sack / 0 TFL's / 0 QB hurr .. ugly ..
Nevada w a QB tryout, the 2 good RB's Taua and Lee did most everything for them as expected, 1 WR had a 19 yds rec otherwise things kept under 10 yds .. wouldn't say Nevada D did much either 3 TFL's on the day 0 sacks .. NMSU likely just a doting offense and QB tryout, frakes not so bad 9/13 143 1td-1pick other guy 3 picks eek .. RBs went 42 yds on 17 carries .. ugly .. Aggs D did put 7 TFL's on Nevada ..
Huskies RB Carter looks like the real deal, hard runs tough to bring down .. obvi coach can't workhorse him for 40 carries in the altitude but watch out for him .. QB1 Roberson from penn state down early, freshman backup def looked like one but not totally lost out there either .. For getting punched in the face twice by UCONN on the first couple drives Utah State stayed pretty composed went onto put up 540 yds and +200 yd edge .. Bonner not bad 20/29 281 3-0 and top 2 RB's 43 carr ~250 yds is what we'd have expected vs Uconn .. pretty good considering Huskies at least looked scrappy and have played defense before .. game def looked closer than the stats indicated 2 fumbles lost for sure helped .. wouldn't go fading Utah St in every spot just yet ..
Charlotte was a wreck QB1 Reynolds went down after a pretty decent TD drive .. FAU was level 99 cheat code vs that D .. unsure on the QB sitch but man Char was pretty unanimous #130 D LY and didn't look like much changed .. really tough to tell if FAU is good when playing maybe a middling level FCS D .. maybe worse, it was bad .. Under still hit lol ..
Fair to say Neb D is not as strong and NU is clearly better on O and at least run D was pretty good .. corn RB's 28 / 120 yds and realllllly tough goal line stand Casey T barely got that TD .. Liked Casey T he's got the O down and a bit of magic to his game .. couple picks didn't seem like his fault def not the last one .. Neb D just wasn't busy 0 sacks 1 hurry 2 TFL's 4 pass deflections .. mmmm .. not good .. NU 2 sacks and didn't let Casey loose on the ground, the 1 yd TD bulldozer was all he got ..
Great recaps brother. If NT can't get any pressure its hard for me to envision SMU not putting up 40+ on them....that total sits at 70.....I gotta look at what the SMU D looks like headed into this season though.....
UTEP looked rough, but no way I'm laying 31 with Oklahoma....
Utah St +39 is kinda intriguing....pretty rare to have a near point pointspread disparity in b2b weeks (from -28 to +39).....Bama gonna be a monster as usual, but gotta figure Utah St finds a way to get a couple scores....
I think its usually a wash, but teams with a game under their belt are always interesting. Some good, some bad. I think Utah St getting that rough 1st q out of the way can only help them....and learning NT can't rush the passes is good to know.....

Sup train, thx yeah didn't know I was gunna be on 3 degen super specials but based on the line moves say I was rootin w the masses yesterday .. 2-1 and pretty good undercard of TT's and other week zero degen junk worth mentioning ..
I took Utah/UF as soon as it came out and after Utah's bowl game bonanza and Napier coming in with some fresh offensive ideas, brought in a great OL and RB from UL and obvi just a whole new attitude .. Richardson should be a dynamic playmaker capable of extending drives. I suppose if he's just a sophomoric stumbling bumbling mess and doesn't understand the new offense then I'll be wrong .. I kinda figured this would be at least average like 56 maybe more but books seemed to have other ideas came out at 52.5 so I just grabbed it thinking might go up .. but here I am wrong again sittin at 50.5 now.. I suspect part of that move is just market leaning early unders, also a few Gator WR's got ding'd up in camp but think they're all back now .. talking head pundit talk informs us UF will just take time to get better into Billy's O.. also likely either rain or super humid think tends to lean us to unders.. we also know utah starts all their seasons off very slow.. mmkay .. I think its all the super sharp money all over the under myself ..
Love Utah's offense and its 2 QB's that can take off and go get those yards Utes putting up like high 30's/40's every game LY when they moved to Cam and total went over 52 6 straight .. the last 3 went under, would throw out Colorado and pinned Oreg down twice maybe big game we see that here? .. all 3 at home / or neutral tho .. obvi point to the epic bowl game but also Arizona hung 29 on em on the road, Oreg St beat them 42-34 on the road .. SDSU 31-33 on the road .. not an unbeatable D last year and losing all everything Lloyd w 22 TFL's 8 sacks .. should replace a bit of his production w Mo Diabetes but idk .. got sacks / TFL's consistently 3/4 /gm but idk think they really need to harass Richardson or he'll drop some escape magic on em .. Not super sold on Gators D either I think Utah can easily get us most of the way 30's really top stable of RB's is really solid 3 deep not even including LSU xfer Curry the 4th back .. Kincade and Kuithe are money .. idk they might really exploit the Gators D them do almost all the heavy lifting .. if not guess I'm in trouble .. also Utes gotta be thinking playoffs this year, this is a real resume builder I wouldn't let off the gas if things were working, maybe means extra score maybe not we'll see .. Utes also have a good kicker / UF at least has a high ranked newbie PS12 in phil so hope we won't be botching those VERY IMPORTANT points .. doesn't seem to be an Boomhammer punter droppin the secret Aussie Sauce on us both about average .. do miss wildcard covey returning, 3 TD's LY .. def possible Utes or Gators find a killer returner ..
I'm not on all the gators / utes insider pages just checkin normal news so idk.. bet that one a while back maybe some not good info out there im not aware of but idk stil like this one sans the sportsbook total movement ..

Yeah that's what I thought too surprisingly low harrasment % outta them w hardison basically throwing 2/3 of the time .. my guess is G-Hard just got kinda unlucky w drops n such they were CRUISIN on those first 2 drives and hit a few big shots in the game .. I lean to NT maybe having a little better D but not one I'd expect is gunna be tons of trouble for SMU .. Ponies also bring back all their top harrasers good bit of that D, got Liberty's DC and I really think that group was kinda unsung heroes w Malik / offense the obvious headliners .. Pass 56% 14-9, 3.5/carry LY .. 57% 17-11, 4.1/carry in covid yr .. lotta D's happy to have those numbers ..
Wouldn't say SMU's D was that bad LY either, just thumbing thru Phil here seein Cincy, TCU, Tulane were really the only teams that got em good running the ball .. pretty solid 3.5/carry in conf ... LA-Tech, UNT put up some passing on em early UNT 500 yds of O LY but only 12 pts to show for it .. eek ... in conf everyone under 300 yds passing except @Hou, @Memp topped big 400+ .. room to improve, new DC new guys mixed w old .. Phil says pass D should keep improving I'd be surprised if they didn't but yeah week 1 vs in-town rival ya never know .. Aune stats were sorta decent but 230 yds 55% w nobody bothering him all night is not exactly wow .. def thinkin only one defense has a chance to really surprise us ..
Think the drop in total is def weather related, my climate models don't actually predict rain on Saturday but we're gunna be surrounded by a few ugly looking weather systems .. one of em breaks our way then could get a little nasty ..

Haynes King starting QB at A&M .. guess I can burn my not huge but hopeful max johnson heisman futures now lol .. did get the bigger odds in part because of the competition, still disappointing .. I thought he did great w what he had to work w at LSU namely an OL that had him on his ass like 40 times and tons of other probs but he could still really deliver a ball w pressure raining down on him .... I don't know anything about King other than injured early LY and what I saw in the spring game but a good competition was had and King won .. just my observe but besides very capable passing we also knew Johnson had some decent wheels that didn't get used much at LSU...(you saw the backups in the bowl game so obvious why ... yuck.. ) ... But we also know King came in touted up for his wheels and his were better .. think no possible way in heck Jimbo picks the worse passing decision making QB just because they're a better runner so logic suggests king better passer better dual runner .. maybe kid's got somma that johnny magic .. could also be johnson wasn't as good as I thought and King eek'd em out .. we'll see ..

Ags are my team. Reports in camp was that King was just edging out Max enough. Few of the guys on our message boards did some deep diving on Max’s stats and found to be more misleading than you’d expect. FWIW, King had edged out Calzada in a similarly close matchup last camp. Minus the Bama game (which I lost my ass on betting Bama), he was awful. Who’s to say a year of development doesn’t help out? But for a No. 6 team to get as much hype as we have, it makes you wonder how good King and Johnson actually are and how that translates to our success with the Defense carrying the team again. We shall see.

Nah, I don't think so. McNamara is a solid drop back qb with experience, JJ is the hotshot 5* with legs to boot. Don't want JJ going portal and the first three almost glorified scrimmages. (CSU could surprise though!) So they each get a start.
McNamara was voted one of five team captains by the players. So I wonder if JJ may feel unappreciated? Hmmm. Just speculation on my part.

I was leaning to this one already the total is up a couple pts already from 55 and UCLA actually had a relatively decent jump on defense last year and BG was able to tussle with a few teams dragging them into more slug-festish games than expected .. H1 of Tenn .. Minn .. etc and brining back substantial ret production so we'll see what happens here it doesn't feel like above average scoring to me .. but obvi seeing that cali is gunna be 100 degrees too and does that have a major impact?.. yeah i think it can for sure... cramps can hit anyone could make the D porous but also you don't even need a D when the O makes mistakes and plays sloppy .. also impact from coaches who realllly don't want to kill their starters in a game they're winning by 4 TD's and maybe from everyone else who just wants to get the hell outta there ... anyway if game is in the bag i'd expect both teams to respect their health and move on ..
I would definitely watch out for a bigger impact week 2 .. recall Boise went to FSU a few years back and Willie T had a whole talk about hydrating his players etc etc .. well that game def didn't go under Boise ran over 100 plays on em .. then went back really underperformed at home vs not a good Marshall squad 14-7 .. FSU went onto nearly lose to ULM the next week 45-44 .. ULM extra pt miss was the diff .. although FSU almost losing to ULM mighta just happened anyway lol .. I would just keep yer eyes peeled this week so you're not bettin on a team of zombies next week ..

Thx Seth yeah some games were ok stat wise but wasn't really tied up in the stats so much as just watching and thinking he woulda been alot better if the program wasn't melting down around him .. yeah I discounted the Calzada camp battle I didn't know it was really close cause Calzada suuuuucked donkey balls .. So King just edged out Calzada .... And just edged out Max .... Omg .. Max is Calzada .. Calzada is Max .. Omg .. Calzada is a Max .. UGHHHHH.... Well it maybe a rougher year on the Brazos than I was expecting .. hope not more fun w them in it to win it .. good luck ..

This could certainly backfire. I think the question is can ULM put up 17 points in this game make the Horns put up 56 for the win .. I suppose if the goal was that then maybe we'd see it otherwise we got a few injuries so some backups already in and maybe some other position groups Sark just needs to find out who can do it in a game .. test out some of the depth .. that's my guess anyway .. I trust Chandler Rodgers to get them 17 or more. LY ULM had Rich Rod at OC putting his son at QB LY and all the really crappy outtings early were with him, Rodgers QB'd the big upsets and surprises and some very very near massive surprises only to have Rhett Rod get out of his hospital bed and keep screwing things up for them .. some of those near surprises were maybe heated rivals like w ULL or weird gotcha spots like w LSU sure .. but I'd def call this a weird spot for Texas too ... ULM's D sure looks spotty with so many newbs in the secondary but line reflects that clearly ..

Yeah amazing what happened awesome game .. would be great to see Frost turn it all around and redeem himself in a major way but that's a pretty long road .. And even though its an FCS next week they gotta get back from idk 7/8 hour flight maybe longer if connecting .. then get minds right and either the worst week of practice ever when the plan was obvi for a chill week .. got a scrappy FCS team showin up in prolly 90+ degree heat like noon kickoff .. should bomb em for sure but that sounds awful .. im waitin for the week after .. hope books learn their lesson on these 38 point lines and we get a reasonable line vs G.SO or at least a reasonable total .. kinda hoping just play the total lol you never know w the Huskers!!! ..
Interesting on Mich I was soooo hoping Hawaii wouldn't get totally exposed vs vandy .. went to bed and missed the 35 point Q3 bonanza .. was planning to lay Michigan - up to a million but it might open at Mich - 2 million and just price me out .. gunna be a real harlem globetrotters kinda game w walk on's dunkin thru the field goal posts ..

I don't know if UT will put up 50 my I'm trustin ULM's QB to deliver a few points on that defense ....UT might need well over 50 to out pace this monster line .. suppose they could maybe .. think they might have other ideas for this game than showing off all their favorite plays .. we'll see ..
