Wolff said that it has changed everyone’s preparation.
The Wolfpack knows that it starts the season with a serious opponent. N.C. State has that helmet to remind them.
“It will stay there, every day I walk in,” said Wolff, who likened this season to when N.C. State opened against South Carolina in 2009. “Basically, he wanted to motivate us. Every day we walk in it’s, ‘Beat Tennessee.’”
Unfortunately, in 2009 State lost to USC 7-3 as five-point favorites.

Jfen whoever you r ;) we know not to bet penn state overs ever!
Agree with your logic about nc state th
Hey buddy : ) You and I both knowthe Ohio-PSU lean was a misprint. It would take an apocalyptic event for me to ever back a PSU over, especially after they lost Redd and Brown. As a Scranton-area native, my hated of Matt McGloin knows no bounds.
I'll be trying to work Alabama onto the card. I remember we were both incredulous when it opened at -7. Denard's wounded ducks could make for quite a blowout.

Though it will be a no play for myself... Have you looked into Bama and Michigan yet?
Also don't forgot your situational capping works better in basketball bbecause Of a quick turnaround... Football with a week doesn't work quite as well we learned that last year

What is the utility of this kind of comment for this fine website?
I mean, we're all here to help each other beat the bookies, right? The bookie is our common enemy, right?
I just understand the hostility.

U killed it CBB JFen, so I will be looking here closely. I think USC at the half may be worth a look. Coach Chow is preparing the team well but they may be over their heads here. Heisman hopeful versus new qbs for us, all Americans everywhere for them, none for us. Total mismatch in programs and budgets. I think SC will use this game to springboard themselves toward a national championship. Lane Kiffen does not hold back. Last Fall in Col. On a Fri. nite game, I was in LV and had money on them. Late in the game, looked like Buffs may have a back door cover. Lane went for it on 4th down to keep the ball and make the cover! Point spread killer like Boise St. used to be.

Agreed that another point or two would be nice, but I capped this at around a PK/NC State -1. The Pack's secondary is one of the best in the country and has the personnel to slow down Bray and company. I'm a little concerned about the complete lack of experience at linebacker, but this current Vols team has not proven anything. Sure, they're much more experienced this year, but I get the sense that a lot of people want them to return to prominence and therefore do not have a realistic opinion of the team's actual standing.
I think Tennessee will be a much improved team, but unfortunately so will the other teams they are chasing in the SEC East (Florida, Georgia & USCe).
A lot of people are sleeping on NC State. They will be a pretty good team this season. I hope to pick up some value with them along the way.
With repsect to the Tennessee/NC State matchup, I concur with your thoughts on the game. To me the game seems too much like a coin flip for me to get involved. But in coin flip games I will always side with the points.
I love your Clemson play. This is one of my favorite plays in week 1.

Jimmy, I think the Pack is definitely helped by the Rodgers suspension. Having a guy like Amerson to go toe-to-toe with Hunter is a luxury few teams will have. Agree that it's something of a toss-up, but there's just something I really like about this year's under-the-radar NC State squad
