Clemson's defense really impressed me vs Auburn, they look extremely athletic, really fast to the ball. I think they are going to do well containing Jackson. Bottom line if Louisville plays like they did vs Purdue and North Carolina they are going to lose this game.
I think there are a lot of "experts" on this form who are kings of just putting on paper what they hear or see on TV. Does Clemson have the talent to stop him ? Absolutely they do.. They did last year as well. nobody knows what will happen Saturday. I just wrote a clear blue print that I am sure any college coach would agree this is how to stop Jackson. But you need the Jim's and the Joe's not just the X and o's .. Across that line of scrimmage there is a guy who also wants to win, who also got up for 5:30 Am workouts... Sometimes its desire sometimes its luck most of the time its a combination of both that determines the winner that day

I'm not a Clemson fan ... that being said ... anybody that bets Louisville at + plus 3 is unrealistic ... could Cards cover ...sure , but much more likely they take a beat down .

Have to disagree with the bolded, they didn't stop Lamar last year.

"Clemsoning" Bro I didnt make that up.... it became part of College vernacular for a reason.... idgaf what the polls say.... simlle fact is if you take Watson years out, Clemson only recent Acc title was 2011 when they lost to georgia tech on the road and national title hopes were ruined.... I follow Clemson dude.... i picked em to cover in 2015 and to win in 2016..... dont meed you to remind me about recruiting and coaching.... They didnt really do ANYTHING with all that coaching and talent before Watson besides 1 acc championship in 2011..... so no... im not living in '98..... you seem to forget their entire history before the last 3 years tho
You're lost dude....
So I guess it was Watson who pitched that shutout on Ohio st.... and held Oklahoma to only 17 points in the playoffs 2years ago or 6 points they held them to before that....Or maybe it was Watson that had 11 sacks last week....or maybe it was Watson who has lead the country in sacks and tackles fro loss like 4 straight years..... I could go on and on...
You're trying to argue with the wrong dude in this forum,bro.... This Guy here knows his sh!t

Original poster, you are a great cheerleader for your team, but we don't come on a betting site to listen to you, or other homers, give us a distorted view of the home team and how much you love them. Your win of an over rated Auburn team (again) isn't proof of how great Clemson is but what suckers the media were for believing a QB with 5 games experience in the no-defense Big12 meant Auburn would finally have a decent offense again. They were horrible, partly because of Venables' always salty defense. Had they scored TDs on those two first and goals instead of TDs, no one would have been able to find you this week. Part of that is Venables' defense, he is one of the best DCs in the business, but mnore can be attributable to Malzone's lousy red zone plans. He has failed in that situation for years because he wants to get cute. But that doesn't make everyone want to bow at the Clemson alter.
The other reason for all the delusion is you think winning the playoff makes Clemson "the best team in CFB". It doesn't just the same as the winner of the Super Bowl, World Series, March Madness, etc., aren't always the best...just one of the best. Last year's Clemson team was probably a Top 10 team, but were not a Top 5 when you look at how they played all year: struggled with Auburn in the early season, took to the very end to seal the deal against a Louisville team that lost four or five times, lost to another average Pitt team, and needed NCST, another average team, to miss a chip shot FG at the buzzer to even get them in the Top 10 at all. I don't think you beat Bama if Scarborough doesn't break his leg in the title game, nor if Saban doesn't lose his mind and fire Kiffin as OC. Be happy, celebrate your good fortune, but don't come on here and act like you have a pulpit to teach everyone else about football.
That said, you have a decent chance of winning the ACC this season if your offense can get it going. Tell us about that part of Clemson, because it is the only way you win the ACC again. That showing the other night looked weak to me. I look forward to this weekend's game, feel you have a good shot to win it, but it is too close to call for me. Need to see something out of your O man, and really look forward to seeing your defense against LJ, should be a good game. Have fun, and keep your posts balanced. Put your pom poms down.

well thought out response...I agree completely
I will say this....
You can have all the right players in the right positions.... and Lamar can still beat you. He's just that kind of athlete.
I have studied Louisville and I know their weakness...
Clemson will ATTACK him
especially at the center and guards....Their center is pathetic... Big Dex and CW will push that line backwards forcing Lamar either left or right... Venables will send LB blitzing in the "A" gap and corners...
I don't for one second think Clemson will sit back and wait for him... they will come after him.
and as I said before.... Clemson will run it right down their throats

Here is another to " why " Clemson isn't deserving... it's never Clemson is it? It's always " the other team didn't o this or that "
Not a top 5???.....This is a new kind of stupid
Funny how you mention that... but didn't mention how Clemson suspended their starting kicker and Deon Cain....and there best absolute shutdown corner Mackenzie Alexander left the game in the 2nd quarter and never returned...and how that COMPLETELY changed things.... funny you left that out
you guys are too easy.... you're fukin with the wrong dude I'm like a machine when it comes to this stuff...

Its laughable to suggest that its unrealistic that Louisville can win this game VS Clemson, especially it being @ LOU
Obviously, BAMA is a healthy step in front of everyone but after there are a handful of teams with real legit chances of making the playoff
Even last year , in Clemsons 15 wins, 8 of those games were decided by 1 score or less thats over 50%.
If you dig inside the box scores you will see that LOU destroyed both Purdue and UNC - both on the road.
LOU Run Defense is playing just as well as Clemson Run defense
Kelly Bryant and the Clemson offense looked terrible at home last week ...He could not throw for 200 YDS and they could not rush for even 100 as a team.
in 2 games Lamar Jackson has already accounted for over
1000YDS.......almost 800 passing and over 200 rushing.......2 road
games....Think about that and let it comprehend......Those are ridiculously sick numbers
Clemsons "D" wont be able to overcome the huge disadvantage they are at on offense.
I am not going to say Louisville is going to win the NC or that they are even the best team in ACC but this is a great spot at home for the Cardinals and Lamar Jackson will get the job done.
I will have a unit on the ML no quesation.

Your whole arguement seems to be based on the dominant defense.... which it is.... But i guess we'll see.... you seem pretty confident.... i hope you bet Clemson bro.... could be big "I told you so" moment and I never hesitate to eat my humble pie when im wrong........ but I put my money where my mouth is.... you seem to be banging the clemson drum while simultaneously talking out the side of your moth saying Louisville could win..... I took the +3.5.....
You seem to miss every point I make and go back to quoting defensive stats... which is fine.... But my point the whole time has been about the QB.... not the freakin defense dude lol

Just so we are clear.... I respect you Boom... ive tailed some of your picks in the past. Im not tryin to prove you wrong.... merely tryin to explain my reasonings for making my pick.... We are all big boys here.... thats why its gambling lol nothing is a sure thing.... If it happens as you say, well then more power to you bruh.... I jus think that Louisville is a solid play because of the SITUATION..... The intangibles... the stuff that duznt show up on a stat sheet but we all know exist lol.... Respect bro

Glad to see you back. I've been silently lurking so far this year.
Clemson's defense is better than last year's defense.
One game doesn't change how good your defense is, good or bad. Alabama had a great defense last year. Clemson lighting them up didn't change that. It's about match ups.
Last season, we couldn't stop Jackson. If Quick had manned up, we probably would have lost the game.
Louisville lost their last 3 to end 2016. Houston and LSU shut Jackson down! Kentucky beat them, although Jackson got his.
In the games vs Houston and Louisville, Jackson got stifled early and honestly looked like he emotionally checked out.
College players are not all grown men. Emotions and confidence can sway dramatically.
Clemson has better overall talent.
If Jackson goes off early, Clemson will have their hands full.
If Clemson can contain Jackson on his first few possessions, then I think Clemson could win big.
being a Clemson fan, I will not bet this and just watch it.
Homer prediction:
Clemson 34
Louisville 20

I have to agree with Boom.....Tigers, by far have the best defensive line in the country....problem there is, the Cards have recently faced the best defensive line in the country in the Tigers last year. Pretty similar scheme from what I can tell so far. You don't think Bobby P is sittin with some 25 year old ex-volleyball player scouring tape from last year. As much as I hate it bc of a Heisman wager I have, but LJ gets his signature win IMO.......
And guess what Clemson will still be there at the end.

This Clemson team is better than last years national championship team IMO... I think they have a few games that they COULD lose, but Kelly Bryant could be better than Watson by the end of the season... Their starting DLine is the best in the country, their Lb's are better than last year, and they could easily be the best team in the country.
They have a few injuries, and I dont think Auburn's coach or QB were ready for a road game at Clemson. I expect theyll beat Louisville, but they will be tested all season. Auburn, @ Louisville, @ Vtech, GT, FSU, @ NCST, @ South Carolina, and then possibly a game vs a team like Miami in the ACC championship..

Did anybody watch the Clemson offense @Clemson last week?
Its amusing that all of these Clemson backers passed Kelly Bryant as a success after the win at home VS Kent.
I am not saying he will not be a good QB - I have no idea how good he will be but he and that offense looked really bad against the first really good defense they played..
After they lose to LOU this week - Clemson fans will realize that a defense alone cannot win games vs good teams.
Right now they are still in awe over the Kent St game.
