Tonight I release my third early play of the season. Get on this one now as it is sure to be a easy cash.
Take: UCF -1 over Penn St
This game is being played overseas and is first on deck to kick off Saturday. Should be an entertaining game as we have a UCF team returning virtually every piece on Defense and Penn State showcasing their star QB Hackenburg and a new coach. Obvious sucker money will be pouring in on Penn St as people will believe that UCF will drop significantly with Blake Bortles and Storm Johnson gone. However, it is the defense that won games for them last year and in this overseas battle to open the year, defense will be what wins it for them. Overseas games are tricky and being the first game of the year will not make it any easier for Penn State who must go through drastic scheme changes under new HC Franklin as well as a new WR corps. Bad spot for Penn State here. Play on UCF and cash in the process.

Hate to say it but I also lean UCF if I had to pick a side. But it's likely a no play for me with an unproven UCF QB playing his first game. QB comparison is a presumed big edge for Penn State, but I think most of the Off vs. Def matchups in this game favor UCF, with the possible exception of Penn State D-line vs. UCF O-line with some holes to replace. With both D-lines having an edge over the opposing O-line, I think Under may be the best play. BTW, Penn State O-line situation is the biggest reason I cannot back them. UCF has a strong WR group, should definitely hold their own or better vs. a decent PSU secondary (assuming the new QB has some ability to get them the ball). When Penn State has the ball, UCF matchup wise looks to have the edge with their secondary vs. PSU WRs and also the front 7 vs. PSU's O-line. It will be interesting to see what Hackenburg and Zwinak/Belton can produce with this O-line and WR corp.
So, yes MrManning has quickly established himself as the latest condescending a s s here on covers, but picks alone, I have not seen anything too far out there to argue with. Time will tell, it's preseason - none of us really know for sure how some of the 'what ifs' will play out from matchup to matchup until the games start.
BOL everyone.

"presumed" big edge? Hackenberg is by FAR the better QB. No qualifiers there...
Also, the Bortles and Storm were about 4500+ yards and 39 or so TD's? I think that was most of their output or 85% of their offense, can't remember where I read that.
This game will be close but don't think the edge is on UCF.

Bunnychow,
Yes, perhaps a poor choice of words. The comment wasn't meant so much to address Hackenburg's abilities. He proved last year that he can play. There is definitely a gap between Hackenburg and DiNovo. We just don't know if it's a gigantic gap or an "above average" size gap because we've never seen DiNovo play in a college game. That's all I was suggesting is that we really don't know how good/bad DiNovo will play.

Mr. Manning, I think you now one of the most popular/infamous cappers on this forum and you don't even have any results yet. Keep the dogs barking. Too bad you changed your Obama avatar. That really got them stirred up. Show these country boys how it is done.

However, it is the defense that won games for them last year....
OOPS.......their D was their weakness actually.....O / Bortles their strength
played vs a fairly anemic bunch of offenses...... *so their so-so numbers misleading a bit..... #s > 125.....121.....114....108...116....90....61...60...69...59....22...12...
vs the 5 winning teams?.....#86 Total D....#80 rushing D *also #78 on 3rd....#109 in RZ
their O?.....#16 at 6.6/play...442/g........Bortles #8 rated passer (68%....9.4/att....276/g)
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.

Get on this play now. I promise it will hit. this hackenburg kid is overrated and we all know that defense wins championships not qbs. UCF is a top team and is better on both sides of the ball and kicking game. This will be a Huge play for me. BOL

My sources are telling me dinovo has mastered the playbook and can make every throw and is also mobile enough to beat em with his feet. dont be surprised if hes this years jameis winston in terms of a surprise qb. Ucf takes this one.

Amazing, Nothing wrong with losing. I am cold as ice so far, but his mouth and how he has all the "inside" info on all of these and they all lose along with his last three preseason plays, He disappears
Histrionic personality disorder. It's sad
