Florida will kill Oklahoma

TEAM SPEED, TEAM SPEED,  West Vagina 48 OU 21 in 2007. This WVU TEAM WAS PLAYIN WITH AN INTERIM HEAD COACH AT THE TIME against virtually the same OU defense...Big Game Bob Stoopid cant coach his boys to run faster.

WVA game... Lets be knowledgeable...

OU had out 3/4 starting Defensive Front, Both DE out Dotson and English  and starting DT Granger out

Both 2 best DB out in Reggie Smith and Lendy Holmes.  and Saftey who barely played and didn't start in Nic Harris.

 

That's half of your starting Defense out trying to stop a very very good rushing attatck.  If FLA lost 3/4 of Defensive Front and 3 DB's for this game, they would get routed by a lot of teams too.

 

OU was playing w/out their 2 best offensive weapons in Demarco Murry and Malcom Kelly... W/ Bradford being just a Frosh

 

WVA was a very good team also...

 

MICH was however NOT a very good team and Man-handled FLA for the tune of 500+ yards and 42pts..

It would have been MUCH WORSE if Mich was not -4 on the turnover battle.. If I remember, Didn't MICH turn it Over twice in the Redzone going into score... If Mich wasn't such a bad team and could keep from turning the ball over, they would have scored 50+ points on FLA...... And MICH sucked last year.

 

Just throw out last years Bowl games... Both teams got embarrased... OU is actually healthy and getting players back this year.. LB Austin Box and DE Austin English.. and Murry, Bradford, and Manual Johnson should all be healthy by bowl game.

 

PS.. TCU game.. OU was up 21-3 in 1Q, and had 333 yds of O by half and 28-3... They could have scored 60+, but worked on running game into TCU's 9 man front the 2h (only threw 12 passes 2nd H)... The game was over by 1Q.

DALTON did play for TCU, as he attempted 39 passes

 

FLA / OU  2 great teams... Just go with your GUT... 

Sorry, don't see tht happening and I am usually VERY worried when OU goes to bowl games.  The joke around Oklahoma is, "What do OU and marijuana have in common?  The both get smoked in bowls"

 

However, I think this years team is more ready than at any time over the last 5 years.  Members of the team have almost 'assumed' that the bowl game was a formaility and reaped the defeat of showing up unprepared.

 

Also most of OU's weapons weren't playing either the whole game or various parts of it.  Demarco Murry ring a bell? 

 

No, as a HUGE OU fan that has had his fears in previous bowl games, this one I have no doubt that The Sooners roll all over Florida.

 

If Tim Teacup wanted to play a BIG XII defense... he's going to get his chance in the biggest way.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, the guys in vegas don't have any more clue as to who wins than any other decent capper. The line is set to get decent action each way and with this spread the have done that. They could care less who wins this game as there will be plenty of money on both sides. Most decent handicappers can set lines for an entire NFL card in minutes and not miss any game by more than a half point or point. It's not tough to set lines. It's always amazing to read all the posts from people who actually think these linemakers set lines knowing who will win or cover, when they could care less. If that's how easy it was, I'd be a multimillionaire by now as would many others. The key is to finding consistent winning methods using a variety of handicapping skills to grind out a profit. One thing I've found in bowl games over the years is to back teams with a balanced offense, which both of these teams have. Florida may have a slight defensive edge, but that's tough to say based on the offenses these teams have faced. The schedule strength certainly favors Oklahoma this year, as the SEC was down in a big way. This game could very well be decided by a single turnover, but we'll all bet it anyway. I think there are much better matchups out there to make money on where some real mismatches exist. I'll be on Oklahoma small in this one based on their nearly perfect offense and overall strength of schedule.

bamaman - see post above by Chim Chim...he is right on the mark...OU did not want to be there last year and WVU played out of its mind...that, combined with the missing players = what happened last year...and OU just plain got beat!  As far as team speed, I can assure you that OU, up and down the roster, has far more team speed then WVU, and will be on par or superior to anything Florida has faced this year (speed...not quality of defense....)

 

Hugeballz - good point..I don't think OU can stop Florida all night, but all it will take is a couple...Florida's offense is NOT that good...let me rephrase that...they are good, but nothing like an elite level offense.  They have great players, and a good scheme, and hell of a QB..I think they will play keep away from OU...if they try and trade blows with OU (a scoring fest) there is no way imo they can keep up..their best bet is to play keep away, have Tebow control the game, and get OU frustrated...the only team to frustrate the Sooners was Texas, and that was for ONLY the last 3 minutes of the 3rd quarter and the 4th quarter (and that was enough..Texas gashed them with big runs and Colt making big plays). 

 

A great team does not get beat at home by an average Miss team...period....OU got beat by a very, very good team on a neutral field, after controlling the first 42 minutes of the game.  I think this game comes down to turnovers...if Florida turns it over, they are done...baked...however, if OU turns it over and gets down, how will they react????  They might start pressing and making more mistakes...I think Tebow is too good and too much of a veteran to really, really press and make mistakes, but it might only take 1-2 turnovers to be the difference in this game...I need to find a prop bet on OU total team points, cuz Florida is NOT going to be able to stop this offense...the only team that I think could really slow them down is the USC Defense, but their offense is not up to par....oh yeah, the kicking game will be huge in this game as well...on paper, Florida has a HUGE edge...it will be interesting to see how it turns out, but regardless, I will be on OU...Stoops makes a return to his "big game" greatness and Urban the young prodigy gets a dose of reality I think!  Either way, I expect a hell of a game..I would be shocked if it was a washout either way....

Gtsum- If you think Meyer is just a prodigy, you need to check again. He already brought Bowling Green and Utah out of the dump and he's just now getting the type players he needs to run his system on offense, defense and special teams.As far back as BIG GAME BOB has been a head coach, i cant find but ONE big game that he won vs FSU in the 2000 nc game. Next big game he had was a loss to Nick Saban @ LSU and his next BIG game he got his ASS handed to him by USC. IMO, a regular season win, even if its a blowout of an unbeaten Texas Tech team really dont mean much.BIG GAME BOB needs to win more than ONE big game to be more than just a prodigy himself.

Chim Chim-  The reason Demarco Murray didnt play last year vs WVU was a guy named Allen Patrick. As for Florida gettin LIT UP by Michigan, I personally won a BOATLOAD of on Mich as a ten point dog. Gators HAD 5 FRESHMEN IN THEIR DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD.   M uch improved team from a year ago, as is OU. IM just gambling with my wallet here and not my heart.

Primetime - You are such a homer.  Texas is not the best team in the country.  They had a great year and played above their ability, but they aren't the best.

 

I am hoping they win their game against OSU.  I always root Big 12 in the bowl season.

Bamafan your reasoning is the biggest joke I have ever seen; what is your definition of a BIG GAME; if Tech beats NC State in the Holiday bowl is that a big game; Stoops is the winningest coach in the last 10 years; he has 6 count them 6 BIG XII titles; ALL OF THOSE BIG XII TITLE are big wins; if Bama had 6 SEC titles they would all be considered big wins; he is playing in this 4th NC game in 10 years; name another coach who has done that. He has played in every BCS Bowl; if you think another coach has won more BIG GAMES than instead of making stupid statements then you dont back it up then back it up; tell me another coach with better stats and MORE BIG WINS; please bamafan; if you want to talk crap BACK IT UP I DONT EXPECT A RESPONSE THERE IS NOT ONE.
