Once again I didn't get my thread up in time to post a weeknight play. I did cash with the Rutgers/Louisville UNDER 21.5 (1st Half) last night.
The one "Best Bet" I missed last week was UTEP. I don't think UTEP was a bad play at all, but elevating them to a "Best Bet" was not a good decision on my part. UTEP was in the game late, but a kickoff return for a touchdown in the 4th quarter pretty much deflated any opportunity for a cover. I apologize to those who followed that play. The other three "Best Bets" covered pretty easily if I remember correctly.
For now I'm just posting the three plays I'm on so far this week. I'll add more Saturday plays later tonight at some point.

This is a game I posted about quite a bit last week. I loved Stanford and bet them early in the week, and because I did, I inadvertently left them off of my card last week. Anyhow, my plan was to come back and bet UCLA this week. But the more I looked at this game I simply can't go against a team playing for the PAC 12 title at home with a huge advantage in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Thus, I'm going to roll with the Cardinals again this week.

Jimmy I know u like to play halftime unders any game tonight u feel will be a low scoring affair ?
Yes, I lean very heavily to UNDER 28.5 (1st Half) in the Northern Illinois/Kent State game. I still may add that as a play. What I don't like about the under is that it will be played indoors, so obviously weather won't be a factor. I do, however, think both defenses will play well early.

Had a question about Stanford game though. I know for sure that UCLA would intentionally play dumb last week (who wants to play ducks...) but I didnt watch the game. Any insight into how these teams matched up? I unfortunately dont watch much PAC12. But the more I look at it I want to lay a teased Stanford or hammer the moneyline. But if they matched up well I didnt want to lay that kind of juice on em.
Also, I heard its rainy and windy there so count on the defensive fronts and the running game to get it done tonight.
BOL!

I have been riding both of these teams pretty much all season, so I hate going against either of them, but here are my thoughts on the game.
I pretty much agree with Northern Illinois backers. If you dig deep into this match-up simple logic compels a "play on the Huskies" conclusion. Jordan Lynch is amazing. He will be the best offensive player on the field. And as surprising as it may be, statistically the Huskies also have a fairly significant edge on defense as well. So it's pretty simple right??? The bet is NIU - 7 right???
Well as Lee Corso would say, "not so fast my friend!!!"
This is a game with huge implications on so many levels. I think everyone knows that Kent State has a legitimate shot to play in a BCS bowl game if they beat NIU and some other chips fall into place.
When you start talking about BCS bowls, you start talking about money, and things in life have a strange way of gravitating toward the money if you know what I mean. In other words, if you bet on NIU - and simple logic finds that you should - you will be swimming upstream of the cash flow. You see what I'm getting at??? I have a personal policy of never, ever betting opposite the cash flow. I'm not necessarily saying the game will be fixed, but I can tell you that the MAC has a lot to lose if NIU wins this game, and I'm just not willing to bet against Kent State and the MAC.
Another reason I can't pull the trigger on NIU is because I can't bet against this Kent State team. Kent State hasn't won a conference championship, or gone to a bowl game in about 35-40 years. Do you have any idea how huge of a win this would be for Kent State??? This is the biggest game in the history of the school. Aside from the BCS considerations, winning a conference championship would immortalize these Kent State players forever!!! The BCS deal is just icing on the cake. These players will be treated like royalty at that school for the rest of their lives if they can win this game.
Kent State is a very solid team that is more than capable of winning. I know that NIU players badly want to win this game too (they also have an outside shot of a BCS bowl game), but quite honestly I think this game just flat means more to the KSU players, coaches and institution. I think they want it more. I think they need it more. IMO this Kent State team is a team of destiny, and I think destiny wins this game outright. Play:
Kent State +7 & Kent State ML @ +235

NIU could care less about Kent State wanting to win this game badly. Destiny is a weird angle to take as well. NIU wins this game. I love your write ups and tail your picks but in no way does Kent State win this game unless something unforseen happens. BCS considerations are big but wont determine the outcome of this game. NIU...all due respect

I hope you are right about Kent St (I have a very small future on them to win the MAC at +1000), but I disagree with your logic.
Northern Illinois has a chance to make the top 16 with a win. And I don't see Northern throwing this game under any circumstance. Northern has also played in this game the last two years, and they beat the crap out of Kent when they played last year.
Kent St won't play any better knowing what is at stake. They can only be nervoud and play worse.
The last part of the equation is the refs. I am not saying they will bribed, but if they are bribed, it won't be the MAC doing the bribing, it will be Oklahoma.
I'm not betting this game, Just rooting for Kent, so, like I said, I hope you're right.
The big game for me tonight is Stanford + the under.

Not sure who wins or covers this game, but from a follow the money line of thought, it isnt out of the question for #21 NIU to win this game and find themselves in the top #16 and in a BCS game. They obviously need help for that to happen, but it isnt impossible.
