The weather at Standford is cloudy not rainy as expected, just FYI

I have a teaser Standford -3.5 and under 53.5. Kinda worry about the under bet... GL Freak!

South Alabama has to fly 4300 miles just to play this game and I only ask your take on it based on the travel.

I just want to tell you have my upmost respect for predicting basically a fixed game. The refs are MAC employees and the MAC wanted that $8,000,000 payout for the BCS game bad. The refs never called one penalty on Kent ST  and eight on NIU, one of them being a highly questionable pass interference on NIU in overtime to give Kent ST another chance to win. Amazing thing to watch, I frankly didn't think the refs would be doing what they did but seeing is believing. Props to Jimmy for calling it. I wonder how often a college team plays a whole game without one penalty called on them. I don't think very often, anyway fascinating to watch unfold.

Hawaii usually does well at home due to the other team traveling so far. I am a South Alabama alumnus and I am taking Hawaii big in this game. I think our guys will not be focused much on this game - a lot of these guys have never left the south and this will be like a vacation to them. Good luck!

I pretty much agree with Northern Illinois backers.  If you dig deep into this match-up simple logic compels a "play on the Huskies" conclusion.  Jordan Lynch is amazing.  He will be the best offensive player on the field.  And as surprising as it may be, statistically the Huskies also have a fairly significant edge on defense as well.  So it's pretty simple right??? This is a game with huge implications on so many levels.  I think everyone knows that Kent State has a legitimate shot to play in a BCS bowl game if they beat NIU and some other chips fall into place.

When you start talking about BCS bowls, you start talking about money, and things in life have a strange way of gravitating toward the money if you know what I mean. In other words, if you bet on NIU - and simple logic finds that you should - you will be swimming upstream of the cash flow. You see what I'm getting at??? I have a personal policy of never, ever betting opposite the cash flow.  I'm not necessarily saying the game will be fixed, but I can tell you that the MAC has a lot to lose if NIU wins this game, and I'm just not willing to bet against Kent State and the MAC.

Another reason I can't pull the trigger on NIU is because I can't bet against this Kent State team. Kent State hasn't won a conference championship, or gone to a bowl game in about 35-40 years. Do you have any idea how huge of a win this would be for Kent State??? This is the biggest game in the history of the school.  Aside from the BCS considerations, winning a conference championship would immortalize these Kent State players forever!!! The BCS deal is just icing on the cake. These players will be treated like royalty at that school for the rest of their lives if they can win this game.

Kent State is a very solid team that is more than capable of winning.  I know that NIU players badly want to win this game too (they also have an outside shot of a BCS bowl game), but quite honestly I think this game just flat means more to the KSU players, coaches and institution.  I think they want it more.  I think they need it more.  IMO this Kent State team is a team of destiny, and I think destiny wins this game outright.
