Swoopes made me sweat out my Texas bet last week, even though it played out exactly like I expected. I was wrong about one thing though. I said Texas would only need to score 17 points to cover. They only needed 14.

Bet it. That's closer to where I expected the number to be.

I disagree. I think the game comes down to the wire. I lean towards Tennessee pulling it out at the end because I just think they want it more. But hey, what the hell do I know???

Their defense will look much better against Florida's offense. Volunteer defense held Georgia and Oklahoma to their lowest point output of the year so far(Ga-28 & OU-27 on the road-Tn offense scored for the opposition in both games) and those are high-powered offenses compared to Florida's pop gun attack. Vol defensive stats better vs UGA than the highly touted Clemson defense. Only thing regretful about Tennessee possibly beating Florida Saturday is that Muschamp will be done and the Gators will improve under new leadership. I am amazed at the lack of playmakers on Florida's roster(especially at wr) the last few years. I know Urban had a run oriented attack and surely recruited to it, but how in the heck does Florida not get some outstanding receivers with all that in state talent? Where are the Ike Hilliards, Gaffneys, Harvins, Reidel Anthonys, and Jacquez Greens? Heck, they don't even have a Doering or Collinsworth! Nothing about Florida's offense scares anyone except Gator fans. If you are counting on the same Vol defense of the last 4 years then you are in for a surprise Saturday. Florida may beat Tn Saturday as expressed by the close line, but it will not be simply because Tennessee's defense isn't talented any more. They are loaded with young talent and are playing pretty well against some top notch offenses. If you haven't noticed the difference then you haven't been watching. Good luck sir!
