Coaches and players allegedly and well obviously not happy. Rumor starting to swirl they may not even show up to the game to make a statement that the CFP can keep thier participation trophy. No discission has been announced so again just noise at this point.

Although it would be hard to blame FSU for boycotting the bowl, I think the ramifications from this move would haunt them for a very long time. Going forward, no bowl would select FSU.

if it were me, and I wanted to make a statement, I would show up for the pressers, media day, go through the bowl practices, get on the plane, etc. etc. go through pregame warmups, do everything as normal. then...
a statement would be made if they dont come out of the lockerroom for the national anthem and when the game is scheduled to start they get on the bus in full uniform and go back to the hotel and go home.
Until the wallet is full.

If I was Norvell, I'd do the 15 practices like normal. I'd do all the bowl activites and make sure my players had a great time. When it came time for the game, I'd stick all my 3rd string guys out there and let them have a blast. I'd be calling fake punts, flea flickers, hook and ladder plays, onside kicks, try a 70 yard FG, maybe have the players do the hokey-pokey when they break the huddle, etc.... On defense, I'd have my guys jump offsides 8 plays in a row. I'd make sure there were 12 guys on the field for half the plays. I'd try and set a record for penalties that will never, ever be broken. I'd also try and set the record for the longest game ever played - stretch it out to 4-5 hours. I would intentionally make it the most entertaining, most outrageous, most cringe-worthy game ever.
God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.

@steponaduck .....Orrrrrrrr, they could rally, then go out & play their asses off. Whining about it will solve nothing. Think about it.......they'd have most of the CFB world in their corner......
Now.now..now MUGG ... Please this is the era of entitlement ... You want them to go out there and prove it on the field.. Crazy idea.. Please Mugg we would rather take our ball and go home .. ... I would also use the 14 pt spot as a motivator... Not only do they think we are inferior to Georgia they think we are going to get rolled... Show up or shut up... Ain't no crying in football...

I think they got screwed, but not playing is a terrible idea. First, they chickened out and canceled the game against Clemson in 2020 after Clemson's team was already in Tallahassee, so this would start to look like a trend. Second, if they beat UGA, the coaches, poll might vote them national champions.

I forgot Dave speaks for all of covers and America for the matter. Got it. FSU is a more storied program than Clemson. Have you only been following college football for last 7-8 years? Fk are you talking about? I did not say the ACC. I said FSU.

Alabama is in for what they did. FSU had two games to prove they were the same team without Jordan. They failed to impress. Their 2nd or 3rd string QB isn’t beating anyone in semifinals.

I wasnt saying by any stretch of the imagination that that is what I would do. I am not recommending they boycott or whine or whatever else. I was just simply stating a way they could make a statement, like the guy who discovers his fiance is cheating on him but still goes through with the marriage ceremony only to reveal photos of the cheater in front of all frients and family at the reception. that type of thing. make a statement.
I am in favor of making that statement on the field, but we all know they arent capable of doing that against UGA and the setting is likely not going to call for a bloodgering type of game by FSU with a 3rd string QB...sentiments provided by head coach Mike Norvel also seemingly reveal that no one is excited about their current predicament.
