GucciCapper is enjoying his time in America. Although GucciCapper has not had a sip of alcohol since GucciCapper's Korean Air flight, GucciCapper is having a great time watching these last few days of sports in Reno, NV. GucciCapper will be traversing to South Lake Tahoe later in the day and will be watching all the bowl games tomorrow in South Lake. It's about to be 2019 in South Korea, so GucciCapper just got off the phone with GucciCapper's Korean MILF and GucciCapper expects her good charisma to keep the positive handicapping juju alive for today.
At first glance, GucciCapper thought Oregon -1.5 was a gift from the gambling Gods. GucciCapper has faded Sparty many times this season and GucciCapper has always been on the right side. The line opened at -1.5 with many unknowns about Justin Herbert's status (slightly beat up after the Beaver game, declaring for the draft or not) and since he made the announcement he is coming back for next year the line has not moved. Though most people were quite certain Herbert would play in this game, GucciCapper thinks Herbert announcing that he will come back to Oregon next year will have a negative effect on the outcome of this game.
Guess who announced he was coming back recently? Our favorite quarterback Shea Patterson! Wow, Shea Patterson is coming back. They will be fully focus to beat up Florida who has no offense. Yeah right. GucciCapper expects this game to play out EXACTLY like the Michigan/Florida game where GucciCapper hammered Florida on the moneyline.
Coaching angles are huge in bowl games. With the long time off for both programs, what coach will have his team focused to play means a lot. Mario Cristobal coached last year's bowl game and they got blown out by Boise. On the contrary, Mark Dantonio had his team focused as a small underdog against the Cougs who they blew out. Give Dantonio time to prepare, and he is quite amazing in bowl games. GucciCapper gives a HUGE coaching advantage to Sparty here.
The time off was very necessary for Sparty to get healthy. With Brian Lewerke shoulder healthier and LJ Scott back, GucciCapper expects the Sparty offense to look a little more explosive against a sub-par Pac 12 defense. On the other side of the ball, GucciCapper thinks that Oregon will have no rush game and will be sitting on the sidelines for most of the game.
Ball control, special teams and no turnovers will be the key for Sparty today. GucciCapper expects Sparty to jump out to an early lead and never look back. Take the more motivated coach, team from a better conference and don't look back. Sparty +1.5 is the play here today boys.
GucciCapper wishes everyone a safe and happy New Years Eve. Hopefully we can finish 2018 with some extra benjamins in all our pockets.
