Dont see how this is a trap game....The line was set at -3 when it opened. So texas what if texas stops the alabama rushing game. By stop you mean keeping it under 100 yds rushing i assume because they will get at least 50 to 60 yards no matter what. So how is Texas going to score points. You do have to remember that they are playing the number 1 defense in the country. I seem to remember Florida having the number 1 defense going into the SEC championship and Bama ran the ball perfectly fine. Texas defense is way overrated, look at what Texas A&M did to them, that was almost embarassing, and then a Nebraska team that could barely score points all year almost beat Texas. So lay your money down on Texas and you could come out with the win, but Alabama will win this game, Saban is so into this football season that he forgot him and his wife's anniversary, talk about commitment to a program. Alabama -5 and moneyline for me, its clearly the right play.

If Texas can get an early lead, the whole dynamics of this game would change. That would really help TEXAS pull off the upset.
Choi, btw, Great Call on Boys SAT NITE. Best Cowboys performance in years. It's amazing to see ALL sports teams play when their in the underdog role and told they have little or no chance i.e. like this game too!. An excellent gameplan (Coaching) can really offset clear, supposively, physical disadvantages that most everybody here feel Alabama has in this matchup. Isn't Muschamp from somewhere in the SEC? He probably will be the key for Texas coaching staff.
Let's keep the debate going and get more input from the masses.

Mustchamp graduated from Georgia and was Saban's defensive Coord. at LSU and at Miami when Saban was in the NFL so he learned a lot of what he knows from Saban, who learned what he knew from Bill Belicheck.... Should be a great battle between those 2 as both know each other tendencies...

FYI for what it's worth. From Dallas A.M. News Friday 12/18 Article about Greg McElroy ALA QB from Southlake,TX where Chase Daniel also starred
After returning to Tuscaloosa and MVP of SEC Champ Game, McElroy "The funny thing is I've been thinking more about the Florida game than the Texas game, I think out of reflection." McElroy said."That was such a big, emotional game for us. Luckily, we didn't have to play a game the next week because so much time and preparation and focus went into beating Florida."
Hmmm.
Don't see anything wrong with this statement, it was taken the week after the SEC Championship game. Can't fault the players and coaches celebrating the first SEC title in ten years. Hell the MNC game was still 30+ days away.
Here is another article to consider if you think the players aren't taking this game serious:
TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama is appealing to the NCAA on behalf of the football team for reimbursement of travel expenses to the BCS National Championship Game, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said Saturday.
The NCAA provides a monetary travel stipend to players of bowl-bound teams who choose to make their own travel arrangements. Saban said the logistical difficulties of traveling from Tuscaloosa to Pasadena, Calif., gave the players little choice in the matter — the alternative is a team charter, for which there is no stipend for players.
“The only direct flights our players could get were from Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta or New Orleans. So we had a lot of logistical problems in terms of guys making connections all over the country to try to get travel,” Saban said.
“We gave the players the option to get direct flights and travel on their own — this was not an edict from me — this was a decision that the players made when they looked into it.
“We have an appeal in to the NCAA because we think it's very, very unfair that because of our location, our players won't be able to receive a little bit of the extra money because they are going on the charter because they don't have any other viable means of transportation to get there. They would be penalized where other players can go from major airports and get direct transportation that's close by. It's a little bit unfair to our players.”
It is unclear how much money each player would receive through individual travel arrangements, or whether a successful appeal would net all or only part of that total. Senior guard Mike Johnson said the team captains took the matter to Saban.
“Me and Rolando and Javy, we kind of talked to Coach Saban about it and talked to the players, and really just said, ‘Look, it's a business trip. It's not about money,'” Johnson said. “It's time to win this game. I was pleased with the way everybody reacted. Everybody wanted to get a charter and stay together as a team and make sure we are all on the same page for the game.”
Oops
Saban said he forgot his wedding anniversary Friday, which has made for a difficult time around the Saban home.
“When I go recruiting for two straight weeks I kind of lose track of the date, and the time, and all that,” Saban said. “I have a wonderful wife, she's very understanding and very supportive and has been very beneficial to helping us be successful through the years and I do appreciate it. I wish her a happy anniversary, even though it's a day late, and probably a dollar short.
