The best part is, everyone backing the horns in this thread is from texas. LOL.
You guys must be from the simpsons, cuz thats nothing but a homer call.
The only real question is which beating will be worse this one or the cotton bowl of '91?46-3? Didn't texas tout themselves quite a bit before that one too? How'd that work out?
Tide will roll, crush and trample. Colt McCoy runs for his life again, just like last year against OSU. Cody is going to eat him for breakfast.

koko11, you be the smart man in this discussion I think. I have been betting for 47 years or involved in the business one way or the other. Have been known to put my buds bets in my pocket or even was a local boy for awhile. I agree with you, he has lots of stats and most are as you say TRUE. But you cannot talk about how many wins a team has in a row going into the next game. That has absolutely nothing to do with the upcoming contest. If that was so magical, how many wins did Fla have coming into the Ala game? I know a bunch and that streak is history! I used to love the guys who bet so many wins when playing on grass and they have done this 22 years in a row. It is nothing but scheduling and we all know if Duke plays Va Tech 19 years in a row, Va Tech should win 19 years in a row. My point exactly! There are differnt players each year, the weather is different each year, but one thing that doesn't change is talent! Albeit Duke is better this year than past few years, but I'd still say they'd lose to Va Tech 19 times because of the difference in talent. Now to the current contest of discussion: I think Tex has a very good team and a very good QB no doubt. What most folks are not aware of is they do in fact have a pretty good defense (for that conference!). Are you paying attention-if Nebraska can move the ball as they did, I have a great feeling that whether Ingram runs for 100 yards or not, the Bama boys will find a way to score. Now we are to the point, if Colt had problems with Nebraskas's defense, one might surmise that he may have a problem with Bama's defense as it is rated rather high in the stats along with Nebraska's. Ala is #2 in the Nation, Texas #3. On offense Tex is #20 and Bama #35. Nebraska's defense was rated in the top 15 so they had a good overall D. What I think this game will come down to is was Texas' defense that good versus the schedule they played versus was Ala's defense was versus the schedule they played, etc. I live in the SEC, so without question I know we play tougher ball down here than Texas faced during their 13-0 run. An example would be, Nebraska would have been in the middle of the pack in either conference in the SEC IMO. Their O could not have matched up down here and didn't do well out there in the Big 12, too much pressure on their good D. Tex scored at will most of the season but struggled against Nebraska's D. I just wonder what will happen when they see the Bama D. Very comparable I might add, but Texas hasn't faced as many teams like Bama that can also score, therein lies their problem gents! Bama is an all around good team and has displayed that against tougher competition! Check the stats if you don't agree. I just did. While I have figured out over the years to be careful when to shoot a wad, my medium money will be on the Bama boys based on what I said above. And for my last tip of the day: In gambling there is no such thing as a sure thing and it didn't take me 47 years to figure that out! Best of luck to both of you fellows! I don't know where the stats came about 68% to 32% as I just checked sportsbook and scoresandodds and they both show 91% of the straight bets are on Bama! I do not think the line will get to 7, and may go down if Texas money shows up! Smart Bama money is already in as they know the line may go up!

Bama backers are in for a treat. They have not face a defense as fast as UT.
Hands down the best defense Bama will face this season and Saban will be licking Mack's balls after the game.
Seriously....I am already thinking about rolling my UT winnings into the FAVORITE in the SUPERBOWL...regardless who the favorite will be.
It's that easy for me......................
I think you better start working on a Plan B Choi, because you need to warm up to the fact that not only will Texas lose this game, they will lose huge. Bama has faced far superior competition throughout the season, and it will show come game time. All the winning streaks in the world will not save Texas from the beatdown that awaits them in the trenches.
And to say Bama hasn't seen a defense as fast as Texas is utterly ludacris!!! They just annihilated the fastest college defense on the planet, plus they've played 2 or 3 other defenses besides Florida that are faster than Texas. Moreover, Bama really doesn't care how fast Texas is on that side of the ball becasue they will simply run over them just like they did to Florida, and Florida's defense is light years better than Texas's.
I don't want to hurt your feelings here, but this game is a mismatch on every level. I wouldn't be shocked if Bama pitches a shutout here. I understand that Texas is your squad, but for God's sake don't compound your misery by losing all your money too.

Thanks for the advice......and I have to tell you this. All you wrote is is absolutely TRUE to a TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.
The only problem is, your physchology is BACKWARD. Bama won't be doing the abusing. UT will run the table in the NC game.
If you haven't read already in this thread.......I do have a Plan B. Let me reiterate,,,,,
Plan A: UT (century bet) & UT ML
Plan B: Roll my UT winnings into the FAVORITE in the Superbowl regardles who the favorite will be. Why? Cause the favorite will be that good.
Plan C: Have 2% lowfat milk and oreo cookies than wait for next yr and start the cycle again.
I wish you BOL my friend.....your going to need it more than I will. You just have to accept faith.

Seriously,,Bama just knocked off Florida and UT barely snucked into the Bowl with a miracle FG against who? Yeah...Nebraska.
And Bama only giving -5?????? Less than a TD?
Get ready fellas.......the books are loading up the bandwagon for Bama backers in this one.
Line will more than likely bid up to -7 or so by game time,,,,similar to the Gators vs. OU last NC.
UT is the "correct" play here...to all UT backers, of course you will wait til game day to roll your bankroll into UT cause they are going to shut down Bama's running game.
Just watch.......
LOVE TEXAS, HOOK EM HORNS
Biggest play of the century for me will be on UT +pts.......

Hey jimmy, Think I'd take some of that Texas +6 1/2 vig free. You have been very in tune w Bama all season, providing great insight and picks, but wonder if you're ignoring possible effects of both team's most recent outing on the upcoming game. Maybe the Horns are over rated--but good teams rarely lay back to back eggs in such meaningful games. Expect them to play much better against Ala than Neb. McCoy not getting the Heisman can't hurt their drive and motivation. All the pressure was on Texas vs Neb, not so in the NC. Bama played by far their best game against Fl--no surprise to those familiar w both teams and the way Ala fell short in last year's SEC final. They won't have a letdown vs Texas, but they probably won't play quite as well as against Fl. There will be more nerves and maybe more of a "play not to lose" mentality. There is more pressure on them, and they won't have that revenge motivation that built up over the past year for the SEC rematch. I'm liking the points and a smaller play on Ala ml. Would hate to see you get burned on the Tide after being so good all season long

i just wasted 20min of my life reading a whole lotta nonesense in this thread.....
hunches???
sports psychology???
faith???
motivation based on the heisman trophy outcome???
bigger/faster/stronger???
opinions on players/coaches midset and focus???
etc etc etc.....
none of us are in the locker room or on the field with these people, so i vote that everyones perspective on factors they cant possibly have credible info on be left out.....
lets talk football.....
i havent looked at the game, but can someone (if you have any) give good info on the offensive and defensive line play of these two teams..... i mean lets get real here, thats where most football games are won and lost
for the record, if nebraska had any teeny tiny hint of an offensive attack they woulda won by 4TDs in the Big 12 title game....
im not a bama backer, but at first glimpse they are the only team on the field with the ability to run over top of speed if need be.....
im not arrogant, someone prove me wrong.............save the faith argument tho

How about I just hold all of your Texas bets vig-free? I'll even give you Texas +6.5 for how ever much money you want to bet.
You want to play? We can play, how about we set this up using ESCROW of my choosing? That way, I know I will get PAID in full when UT mopped up Bama in the NC game. Whatever I deposit into the escrow account, you will match it. There will be 4 zeros behind the first number with no decimal. Winner takes it all. Whatever the line is on gameday, we roll with that.

It's rare you listen to someone in this thread that has an open mind on this game. More power to you brotha.
Shit happens all the time and it also happens in the sports gambling world too.
I can understand the naysayers...they've been riding Bama most of the season and all of a sudden change lane and do a complete 360?.......impossible for most,,,,,but to the ones that can do it with an open mind. Welcome on the moneytrain------choo! choo!

$10,000 is fine with me as that is my normal max bet anyhow, but I'm not really sure how an escrow account would work out simply because one of us would be in control of the account and the other one wouldn't. In other words, if you were in control of the account, you could simply keep my money regardless of the outcome.
A simpler solution might be for me to make a check payable to you, and you make a check payable to me, and we'll let a trustworthy person on the board hold both checks. Then after the game, he'll simply mail both checks to the winner.

Why don't you look into the escrow service and get back to me. It's the most legit 3rd party service out there. I'll let you choose a reliable escrow service of your choice if you think I am BS you.
I also like $2.5K on the ML too. Found some extra coins in my sock draw.

Even before I read your post, I asked my attorney about using his escrow account, and he said that would be fine except that he said that there would be paperwork that would have to be filled out, and that he would have to report the transaction to the IRS. That sounds a little messy to me and he agreed. He also said that just having a neutral third party hold the checks is simpler if this is just a one-time deal, even though it's not really verifiable that way. One way to verify could be to show a bank statement showing the funds.
I also don't have a problem with the ML bet. A +6.5 ML bet is equivalent to +220, which is much better than you can get at a book who are paying +170. So in this case your $2,500 would pay $5,500.
I sent you a friend request so that we can work out the details off of the message board. If you want someone on the board to serve as a neutral third party, someone like Boom Boom I think would be good. Do you know who he is?

Would hate to see you get burned on the Tide after being so good all season long
I am willing to give you +6.5 as well, but if I hold both of Choi's bets, I'll have to limit you to 5k because I'll already have 15.5k at risk.
I also sent you a friend request.
As far as the game is concerned, I'll probably venture a full write-up in the next 5 days or so.
