How the fudge is that targeting on fields

i like the brutality of the sport but the rules are quite clear....

 Yep, you and me both...spearing = targeting. I agree that he led with the helmet and that is against the rules, but I also agree this sport has become a little soft. Butkus would have eaten everyone for lunch.

 The rules have gone too far, particularly on the ejections. 

Clemson is done, but so is OSU.. Thinking Fields has broken ribs and even if they win, he will have a tough time playing against Alabama. Will be surprised if he finishes this game.

I'm glad they took it out. I played football into my twenties and it's dangerous leading with the crown of your helmet. In the 90's it was acceptable and I've been in the field with too many neck injuries that haunt you to see. The sport is violent enough and if you don't understand that then you never played it

watched plenty of games and seen hits that were far more severe than this one that were never called for targeting even after review lol 

His head was down and he lead with his helmet.  Good way to break your neck and become paralyzed. You ever play football? First thing they tell you when you’re a kid and to not do this. Yes...it’s a penalty.  Would you have said this if it happened to Lawrence and not Fields?  I highly doubt it. Good luck man but don’t make excuses. You lose, you lose.  There is a whole half to go.  But if it doesn’t work out take the L like a man and look forward towards the games tomorrow

@cdog8043, I am on OSU and he does look good, but I am worried the injury is worse than he is letting on. Kudos to him if he fights thru, but if he gets one more hit and has to sit the rest of this one and can't play against Bama, it will be ugly.
