It's The Season To Show Respect To Our Handicappers

I didn't handicap last night's New Orleans Bowl but i noticed many others did and some respected handicappers here had chosen South Alabama to win and unfortunately it didn't turn out that way.  Gamblers everywhere have had bad beats - shucks, we should start a thread with people sharing bad beats.  Last night's didn't qualify as a bad beat as WKU led from start to finish in a no doubter.  Those that tailed many of our handicappers brave enough to post their selections were somewhat mad and shared their frustrations in some posts.  It's ok to be mad/frustrated that a game didn't go your way but in the spirit of the season we all should try and be a bit respectful of our handicappers - both veterans and rookies - who have the courage and conviction in selecting these games. And not only selecting them but providing their reasons in doing so.  I like those posters who gave us a reason/write up as to why they went one way - I may not agree with them but it gives me insight in making my own decision. There are like 43 bowls i think and we are done with 5 or 6 - we got 35 or so more to go...and some will go our way and some will not go our way BUT BUT BUT let's have fun and enjoy the wins and learn from the losses.  Nobody said this sports betting is easy or else we all will be smiling to the bank every day.  Again read our great handicappers posts, contribute with your thoughts and make your own decisions.  In bowl games i have posted here i am 3-3, i am no sharpie but i love to intellectually try to handicap and bowl games are a much difficult beast to handicap cause you got players not playing, you got teams having two weeks or more to prepare and scout another team, you have trick plays you cannot account for and finally you have motivation or lack of.  It ain't easy brothers!!  

So this is a long post just to say let's have fun, be respectful to our handicappers - in the end it's US against the books and we are all honestly trying to help each other.

So on to Ft Worth Texas for the Armed Forces Bowl between Baylor and Air Force- can i give you a tip, check the weather report for Ft Worth tonight - i think i last read in the low 20s with gusty winds..I mean come on man...........O/V is 43.5...i am off to handicap it but I love weather angles ))

these are all terms losing bettors use, they have to justify their losing in their own heads by coming up with conspiracy theories, meanwhile they are still losing despite having figured out why lines move & what vegas wants lol, gtfoh 

none better than those who think they are tracking the public (& still losing)

These idiots somehow chased off BookieAssassin who did nothing but put in time & work for free & was such a nice guy, he was an asset here, get him back you dolts

Covers is a great website (prob the best online & I love it) but if they managed the forums better they’d keep more traffic & not allow the guys getting views to leave, they continually fuk this up & we have lost most of our top guys over the years 

keep posting your bets btw, we need more members to start threads with their bets in it, less threads about the “vegas begging us to take this”

Wahoo, I found Covers only the last couple years and was only an observer then reading posts. I have become more of a meaningful (at least in my mind) contributor this past year as the state of Maryland finally legally sports betting both at local physical casinos and on the mobile side.

Yeah - everyone has a conspiracy theory, a weird angle, etc.  Some are funny like one a few weeks ago in the NFL forum who tied the Heisman trophy ceremony to Baker Mayfield's performance because of his connection to Lane Kiffin LOL.  But that's all fine as long as people don't harass others and rush to judgments.  That's what i hate. 

I also hate which i see happening in your posts a lot when people start posting during a game as it goes back and forth which in turn messes up the intent of your thread - choosing teams not discussing the game as it is being played.

Anyhow I will continue to post my thoughts and selections and hope I can do so in a meaningful (and sometimes humorous)  way as I too think Covers is a good forum for sports related discussions.

Happy Holidays to you as well Wahoo.....keep doing what you do and as you said we will always have naysayers and those who will come out of the woodwork after a game is over....but we are stronger than that and will prevail in the end.
