finished up the regular season a modest 48-38-1 posted record. I didn't start posting until about mid-way through so i'm not sure if i would have been better or worse, but I had a good year overall in ncaa. So on to the bowl games. I don't think i'm going to be doing many write ups as it really is all about teams that have done some good things throughout the season, have players who have separated themselves one way or the other, who's motivated to be where, line moves, coaches leaving, etc... so good luck to everyone this bowl season. I will say that my 2 favorite plays of the bowl season are Wisconsin and Michigan St. I am also quite fond of Western Michigan (wait, did i just say quite fond of??) sorry about that, hahahaha. I like BYU a lot as well.
On to Day 1:
Temple -6.5
i like temple's run game and defense to be the difference here. Huxtable Power!
Ohio PK
turbin was slowed toward end of the season and utah st wasn't really firing on all..ohio hasn't done well in bowl games and i think they will use that to fuel their fire today. good balance on offense, like what telttleton did this year, opportunistic defense. they get the win.

this situation is certainly familiar to those familiar with the dynamic that was sandiego st last year. they had a great season off a 2-10 season the year before, got to stay at home to play a bowl game....cajuns have the same situation going on here. Just how motivated is SDSU in this one? They are also pretty beat up as a team..............he San Diego State football team shortened its practice time down to
about an hour Thursday at the Superdome because of too many injuries.
The Aztecs were scheduled to practice for two hours but decided not to
push it.
“We’re a beat up football team,” said head coach Rocky Long, whose
team plays Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday in the New Orleans Bowl.
“Half of our starters will be playing with some form of ailment. We’ve
got a whole bunch of guys who played the last half of season or more
beat up. And guess what. When they’re playing, they don’t get well.” The team mantra under Long is that pain shouldn’t hold you back from
playing unless you’re not medically cleared to play by the doctor. And pain was obvious Thursday. Starting linebacker Jake Fely limped
off the field with a bad ankle, a bad elbow and a bruised knee. “But
he’ll play,” Long said, noting Fely’s “high pain tolerance.”Long said two linemen probably will play with a broken or fractured
foot: defensive end Larry Gibbs and center Alec Johnson. He said the
other four starting offensive linemen have bad ankles or a bad knee.
Last year, the Aztecs hadn’t been to a bowl game since 1998. After
they finally became bowl-eligible with a win at Wyoming, dozens of fans
greeted them when they returned home to celebrate. This year, fans were not as impressed when the Aztecs became
bowl-eligible with a win at Colorado State on Nov. 12. Upon returning
home, how many were there to greet them? None.
i think the cajuns will be about as motivated as any team in this bowl season. they have only beat one major team with a winning record, but i'm not sure i really care. these guys believe and they are catching a nice amount of points here.
Cajuns +6

interesting game here. FIU has played pretty poorl throughout the season and their "toughest" games have been against some really panzy ass teams, including their last 2 wins. their defense has been solid against their lousy schedule, but even when they played "good offenses" or maybe i should say teams with positive offensive schemes, they gave up 34 to ark st, 31 to duke and 36 to lafayette. is marshall anywhere nearly as good offensively? hell no, they did put some points up on some shitty defenses, uab, memphis, ecu, but my point is that i don't think they are going to march up and down the field on FIU. Marshall played a top 15 schedule technically, but i'm not sure i buy all of that, they def played a tougher schedule than FIU though. I think FIU fell short of expectations and Marshall did just enough to excite themselves at the end and get to a bowl game. I'm sure Cristobal is as good as gone and FIU has the more experienced qb, but i know a lot of these guys played against each other in high school in FLA as marshall has a ton of florida guys on their roster, my gut is that marshall covers, but i'm not a fan of inconsistent qb play in a bowl game. they have a game changer on defense, but FIU has the better defense. i'm seeing this game in the 20's and I can honestly see either team winning if FIU isn't completely focused. So, i'm going to do a rare tease tonight to try and move to 4-0 on the bowl season. it's risky, but it's the bet i feel most comfortable with for this toilet bowl.
Marshall +11.5 and UNDER 55.5
good luck all.

Nice job thus far Charlotte That under 55,5 almost cant lose but I would have played the other side FIU +3.5 as I really dont see Marshall moving the ball but GL & hope we both win

should be a good one tonight. Pachall has the horned frog offense rolling, but they will be without their co-offensive coordinator who left for a gig. will that affect them? who knows. will the fact that they were snubbed for a bcs bowl and after playing in a bcs bowl a few times, does the zoo in San Diego really get their juices flowing? This also puts TCU in the unfamiliar position of being Goliath, when they are usually David. tcu is 0-6 ats in their last 6 non-conference games. while la tech is 5-0 ats in their last 5 non-conference games. I can't decide how much missing Creer will affect the bulldogs either. i think la tech can certainly move the ball on tcu defense and have played a pretty tough schedule, they lost their opener by 2 to southern miss, by 1 to houston and by 6 in overtime to mississippi st. they have the horses to not only stop, but keep pace with tcu. tcu is 10-2 and a little dissapointed they aren't in a bcs game and la tech playing in what might be their biggest bowl game to-date. I don't think tcu will be taking them lightly, but i do think la tech can play on their level and this should be an entertaining game.

off to drink some Christmas beer after this day of negotiating with fucking whack jobs. Trying to put a private label bottled water deal together for a deli in NYC. Spring water and Sparkling Spring Water in plastic bottles.
If anyone is or knows anyone in the water bottling business, let me know.
good luck to everyone tonight. I hope Creer being out doesn't screw this bet up, but i'm locked in so go bulldogs.
