Knowing how fast this stuff changes, the behind the scenes BS, and ridiculous $$$ involved in every move…Does anyone else call BS on OU & UT joining the SEC by NCAAF2025? Sure seems like we’re destined for Two Super Conferences by then. I cant see how the consistent time zones & travel of a UCLA/USC to Penn St/ Ohio St (4-5 hour flights) for men & women’s sports and with NO regional connection or rivalry is going to last long…. But I’m much better at predicting the outcome of games than what the Big bureaucracy of NCAAF will decide next. Way too many interests IMO. The Big 12 is looking better & better positioned, the PAC 12 as well. Slick recruit steal by ASU! Oregon monster portal/recruiting yet again.
I heard today the entire Big 12 is ranked in the Top 70 of men’s Hoops! Absurd. They’re not only head and shoulders above the rest as the best conference in Basketball (I wager daily hoops) but there’s not a single bad team, top to bottom solid. Unfortunately Oklahoma is near bottom. I’m Just throwing thoughts out, but I’m not seeing it 2025 as projected.

That is strange, especially with all the "carbon footprint" talk.

@UNIMAN Yup, come 2026 we will no longer have conferences IMO, it might get a whole lot better, stay tuned .
I project a North/South/East/West format… with the Goal to make the Sweet 16 playoffs:
Let’s take a look ahead at End of Season ‘26 heading to the playoffs in my crystal ball:
South: 1.Bama 2.UGA 3.LSU 4. Tennessee
East: 1.Clemson 2.Florida St 3. Florida 4. Tex A&M
West: 1.Oregon 2.USC 3.TCU 4.Texas
North: 1.Ohio St 2. Michigan 3.Penn St 4.Notre Dame
Very interested in other thoughts… Something tells me USC/UCLA really got excited and shot their load early on a bad situation (weeee let’s join BIG10!!) No reason to leave the west and visit Northwestern, Indiana, and Purdue. C’mon man.
Just a wild prediction, but the above 2026 Regional Conferences would make for one helluva “SWEET 16” Tournament for NCAAF… Feel free to insert your favorite team missing the cut. I based my prediction off Alumni$$/History/Facilities/Recruitng/. What say you?

I said this Feb 14th and still think it’s an adequate perspective

Not sure what you’re talking about, haha…but you’re a good man . I still think my initial proposal has some merit..

The travel now involved with a USC @ Rutgers conference game or Northwestern @ UCLA… dumb and dumb. The Big 10 is loaded with pit stops…At least the SEC sort of makes sense adding the two Big 12 schools (personally I never thought Missouri was SEC material).

Sometimes I stop and look at all that’s changed in 24 months to NCAAF and I’m flabbergasted…. But like all the new technology you just have to embrace it or you’ll go nuts. Lol
my Great grandpa Hobson played Okie St in the 1920’s, and my Grampy Wolfe was Army JV played with the first team a handful of games…point being they would probably be:
-Blown away by the crowds and money involved today, and I mean that in a good way -Unsure about the transfer portal and the lack of 3-4 year Teammate commitments -Most likely happy players can make more than just room, board, & walk around money -Todays passing and 3rd down conversion artwork would impress them. -Big Ten & SEC defenses would remind them of the good old Slobber Knocker, De-cleater days of NCAAF
