great stuff on ECU
what's the status of Freeney...seems like he would add a lot to the attack and last I heard he was given the spring off to get his academics together
what's your take on the LBs....Spence seems like he could be pretty solid, how about former walk ons Lineback and Pittman like the looks of hybrid Powell although I guess at 198 he's more effective as DE type

"...Flash forward to late April and M&T Banks Stadium in Baltimore. Hunt is lined up to be timed in the 40-yard dash, a standard procedure at the various Nike Combines where top recruits annually strut their stuff for reporters from the Rivals.com web network.
Hunt was electronically timed in 4.3 seconds. The sprint was so fast that the combine organizers asked Hunt to run again to be sure his first clocking was accurate.
This time, Hunt covered the 40 yards in 4.29 seconds.
The camp instructors were so in awe of that performance that they asked Hunt to return for one more sprint – this time with video cameras rolling – after he’d completed the other combine drills. Again, Hunt bettered his time, hurling himself down the runway in 4.25 seconds."
...all coupled with Dwayne Harris and the receiving corps starts to look insane for this offense. The offensive line is really good, so if Dom Davis can get it going from under center, ECU is going to put up some points.
Spence will lead the LB's. Overall, ECU upgraded on linebackers. Pirate fans are anxious to see junior linebacker Steve Spence take on the full-time role at middle linebacker in 2010. Spence, who has shown tremendous flashes of brilliance throughout his brief career with the Pirates appeared to be ready for the job after a dominating effort in the spring game. He flew all over the field while he was out there collecting 6 tackles and a pass breakup.
Melvin Patterson is another one to look out for this season. He's a player the rags are overlooking, and also Vegas. For Patterson, his collegiate football career has been a true roller coaster ride. As a highly-touted prospect coming out of Santa Fe High School in Florida, Patterson ended up choosing the Pirates over other offeres including West Virginia, Iowa, and N.C. State. He came into Greenville projected to be a wide receiver, but the coaching staff at ECU converted him to safety."...Flash forward to late April and M&T Banks Stadium in Baltimore. "I'm very fortunate to have guys who understand me and how I am. It's a little similar to what the Alamo Bowl was like in some aspects.
"It helps that we're on the same page in a hurry. There is always discussion and input of ideas and thoughts. There are already some things we've been through with trial and error. We know what we tried in the past and know what we won't do again. You can imagine how much time that saves. It's amazing.
"We can go in a room and we're all on the same page. Even the guys who weren't at Texas Tech with us and were not a part of it before are on the same page with us. We can make decisions, improvise in midstream and move on. It has been from the administration on through. All of those guys are able to adjust. I'm really blessed to have a group of professionals like that."

great stuff as usual Lu
good news on Freeney and looking forward to checking out Womack, Hunt, Patterson, Dixon, etc further - keeping up with new talent is one of the things that makes CFB great
keeping Pirates as one of 2-3 teams still considering, line rating reversal of 10-15 pts since last game with Tulsa overkill, looking forward to seeing how QB and other positions go in camp
much appreciated
