I bet that Wyoming/ Nebraska over 61 back on August 9th and posted a quick write up for it on another site. Here is what I wrote.

"The reason I like this over so much is mainly because of Wyoming's
offense this year and what not many people know yet. That is that Dave
Christensen is calling the plays as the offensive coordinator and he is
trying to make Wyoming the fastest offense in the country.
In the spring they were getting a snap off every 12 seconds and he said
he wanted them to get a snap off every 10 seconds by the time the
Nebraska game rolled around. They have started off going full tilt with
the pace in fall camp. They do have a good QB in Brett Smith and a lot
of receivers back so they should be able to put up a few points on the
Nebraska defense with this pace.
The other thing that should happen in this game with Wyoming trying to
play at this fast of pace is when Nebraska stops Wyoming they will get
the ball back fast and have more scoring opportunities themselves.
Wyoming I believe will have an improved defense over last years team but
it won't matter in this game against Nebraska and what the Cornhuskers
are bringing back on the offensive side of the ball.
I believe with the fast pace and the Cornhuskers playing in a home
opener that Nebraska probably should at least score 45-49 points
themselves and so you will need Wyoming to get in the 14-17 point range
which I think they can do. I believe this total will sail over the 61
points.
I can see a final of around 49-24 or 56-28. Something in that range. "

I really hate the +2.5, speaking of key football numbers...while games can and will end on these margins, the majority are FG or better.. seems like you're giving up such an edge to the books when you're stuck on this number that it's probably worth just taking the ML in these spots..just my .02, though. Whether jdn likes them SU or not, and the other picks, I'll defer

I think Steele may be on to something with Northwestern v. Cal. Everyone thinks that Cal, arguably the 2nd worst team in the PAC XII behind Colorado, with be able to stick within a TD of a top 25 Northwestern Team that was 10-3 (in a weakened BIG 10) and missed an undefeated season by a cumulative total of 19 points and returns 8 and 7 starts with an outstanding coach. Yes, the Golden Bears may fill their stadium, but when they are down by 20+ at half time, the stadium will empty and everyone will be sipping latte's on Shattuck Avenue...(in essence a fair weathered fan base).
Someone please tell me why I should not jump on Northwestern a -5.5...Back in early summer this line was up to like -8.5. I think part of it is Northwestern's historic reputation for futility. I think this could be a special season for Northwestern...

According to ESPN Stats, they were 5-17 since 2000 in these situations heading into last season. Then Wisconsin lost at Oregon State, Nebraska lost at UCLA (both as favorites) and Illinois got smoked at ASU. So now 5-20 since 2000.
And I believe it is even much worse in late night games on the West Coast. Unfortunately don't have the exact stats to back it up. However, I was in person to watch Iowa get smoked at ASU in 2004 44-7 and also at Arizona in 2010 34-27 (down 20 at the half), as the #12 and #9 teams in the country at the time. And I remember a lot of discussion at the time of how bad Big Ten teams play in 10:30 pm ET start times at PAC 12 stadiums. They sure looked bad in those games. Also remember Wisconsin hanging on to beat Fresno State by 3 in 2008 when they were a Top Ten team.
Definitely think there is something to this trend as B1G teams have looked horrible in PAC 12 road games. Something to consider.
