Tried to help you out last week in the GT/Clemson game. It was obvious your emotions were getting the best of you and one would figure that you would learn from that. But yet again it appears that your Clemson "fandom" has gotten in the way of another trap line. Yes Arky has owned SC in the past. Yes SC is without their heisman canadiate RB and his back up and his other 2 back us are coming off injury. Yes SC lost their 5th year senior Qb and are starting a guy with only 3 career starts. Yes Arky waxed SC last year, and the year before and before that and so on...Oh, and this game is being played @ Arky. So why is the line only 4.5? Hmmm...
Defense is king in the SEC and SC has one of the best. Interesting fact is that if you compare the defenses of Alabama, LSU and SC in the games where they played similar opponents (Auburn, Miss St., Vandy, and Kentucky with SC and LSU) you would find that SC had better numbers than Bama or LSU in these games. Also, you have to take into account the fact that LSU and Bama have a better offense and were able to put their D in better situations and field position. Add to the fact that SC has given up 1 TD in their last 3 SEC games and only 1 2nd half TD over their last 5. Impressive.
So pretty much, SC has a stout D. Their pass D is 3rd best in the country, their D-line is one of the best in the SEC and their D as a whole match up very well against Arky.
So now, let me guess, your arguement would be that SC can't score because their offense is pitiful. While I wouldn't call the SC offense great by ANY measure, here is some more interesting info for SEC games... https://sec.xosdigitallabs.com/Portals/3/SEC%20Website/football/SEC-Only.pdf
Points Score...Arky 4th, SC 5th
Rushing...SC 4th, Arky 9th
Passing...Arky 1st, SC 4th
Passing Effic...Arky 4th, SC 5th
3rd Downs...SC 4th, Arky 8th
First Downs...SC 2nd, Arky 9th
Time of Possession...SC 4th, Arky 11th
TOTAL OFFENSE...SC 4th, Arky 5th
So I guess the arguement now would be that SC doesn't have Lattimore any longer and that they won't be able to rush the ball. Maybe so but not according to the numbers put up by their new RB las week. Oh so that game was a fluke just b/c it was UT? Ok well here are the SEC RB's that have played UT so far and how they fared...
Trent Richardson: 17-77 4.5ypc
Spencer Ware: 23-80 3.5ypc
Isaiah Crowell: 19-58 3.1ypc
Chris Rainey: 21-108 5.1ypc
Brandon Wilds: 28-137 4.9ypc
Long story short...I think you're letting your "fandom" get in the way by betting against your rival and with a line that looks very sharp. I'm not saying Arky doens't cover but I'm certainly betting that they don't. EVERYONE is on Arky, just like everyone was on Clemson. Lines are like they are for a reason. If you actually would have dug deep into this match-up instead of just saying Arky by 14, then you might have realized that this game certainly isn't a play on Arkansas. I think you are knowledgable within regards to college football but like many bettors, your emotions and lack of research will cost you SOME money.
You gotta love the "I tried to help you" posters. They hit their first differing opinion, then think they are going undefeated. Start your own thread Mr. Helper!
