I was on this early. I think with a healthy QB and Diggs, along with a commitment to play at a high level since the ACC teams are going to want to beat them since this is their last year in the ACC before they bolt to the Big 10, they will have a sense of urgency and you would think that would start against a patsie like FIU.
Can someone post the link to that e-book about FIU and Mario's last year as coach. The spread was 15 prior to Rhodes dismissal, move up to 17 and now I guess is down to 16.5.
there's something scary about taking the Terps, even with all the challenges from last year. but, I will take a further look. GL

Hoosier - Never easy to lay that many pts with a team like Maryland but I think they have a nice yr - and perfect matchup wk1....line 16.5 at 5Dimes still not sure about other places.
bookie - ya read that story about Brown last night - Summer is great for this drama

FWIW - I assume he is not playing - and really - one guy in a stable of RB in or out is always overrated IMO - its all about the OL vs DL matchup and it should be big wk1

I like being on the same side as HOT CARL and bookie.
bookie provides some excellent info as usual and I completely agree with the 'Terps "feel good" home romp theory. I also think that FIU's switch from a spread to Turner's pro-style offense was not going to be an easy transition, but without Rhodes it will now be even tougher. Losing 30 seniors last year and 2 more already this year Rhodes/Coleman combined with installing a new offense makes me think that it may take FIU a few weeks to be less horrible than I suspect they will be when they visit College Park.
GL this season MEGA!

FIU - it appears from the article posted above by Bookie that FIU is a train wreck. Question - does Edsall have the moxie to lay a beat down on a bad team that probably expects to get beat down? He does have Locksley as his OC who was disgraced in a similar situation at New Mexico a few years ago. This match screams beat down by the Terps, but I think we need to focus on Maryland, how hungry they are, and how good their D will be.
This matchup has the potential to be a 42 to 7 Terp victory...

The Stefon Diggs factor favors the possibility of a UM blowout.
Apparently he has added the abilty to play the X and Z during the offseason so FIU can not just focus on defending him from the slot. Plus UM has so much speed at WR it's ridiculous. Not to mention the return game potential.

thx guys all you can do is do the work - get what you think is a good line - and see what happens.
Looked at these games last night - anyone have any thoughts?
Wisconsin -44 UMass....Have to think they will need 48-50+ to cover...As bad as UMass is that seems like a ton of points. Can see Badgers ripping off 35 pts in the first half I suppose but again that is a ton of pts. We have the fair line at 35 making this our biggest fair line/actual discrepancy but probably gonna take a pass.
Colorado -1 Colorado St....Did a deeper dive on the Rams and they should be a lot better yr 2 with HC...QB/OL look good - decent WR and TE....D is a big question mark but 8 RS and added JUCOs could help....Buffs bring in the SJ St staff and while they were pure feces last yr - there is no real way of knowing how they will play wk 1....Top WR back, RB ok....huge Q mark at QB and D gave up 46/game last yr...but have 9 RS which may not be great but experience is huge...Our ratings say Colorado -2 but that derives primarily from conference ranking vs MWest...Big rivalry game...Gonna take a pass unless could get either team +3.5 or more - not likely
Michigan -28 C Michigan....Starting to lean Chips...yes they have fresh meat at QB but there is every indication he can play...Stud RB and star WR...OL should be ok even with losing top NFL pick...Biggest concern is DL lack of pressure and soft vs run but Michigan has new interior on OL...We are high on Michigan overall but getting the feeling we are paying too much for potential given the OL youth in spots and Qs on D.....They have ND on deck but have done fine recently in that spot...We have the fair line around 26 but will be looking at this one further at 28+

That OSU line will rise the week of the game, when people are focusing on football and pounding the Bucks "just because".....Would think this line might creep up to 36/37 even.....
