ACC
Clemson (-11, up from -9') at PITTSBURGH - The Tigers have no wiggle room in the ACC after a shocking 33-21 upset loss to Louisville two weeks ago. They rebounded last week at Virginia Tech, holding the Hokies to 228 total yards, including just 40 on the ground (1.9 YPR), in a 24-14 win. Now they face a Panthers team that may be without QB Eli Holstein, who was injured (concussion?) on a late hit in the third quarter of a 24-19 loss to Virginia.
CALIFORNIA (-9, up from -7) vs Syracuse - The Golden Bears have won two straight, and need one more win for bowl eligibility. Last Friday they never trailed in a 46-36 win at Wake Forest. It's the second straight road game for the Orange, who surrendered 313 rushing yards (6.1 YPR) in a 37-31 loss at Boston College.
NOTRE DAME (-23, up from -22') vs Virginia - The Irish likely have to win out to make the CFP, and have won seven straight since their Week Two debacle vs Northern Illinois. They're also 6-1 ATS since then, and have covered five straight games. The Cavaliers need one more win to get to a bowl, but with this game, followed by SMU and Virginia Tech, that sixth win might be hard to come by. Still, Virginia is 3-1 SU, and 3-0-1 ATS on the road, and overall have covered five of their last six games.
SMU (-19', up from -15) vs Boston College - The Mustangs are off a bye and have been as hot as any team in the country since a loss to BYU in early September. With Miami's loss to Georgia Tech last week, SMU sits atop the ACC standings at 5-0, and face an Eagles team that's been outgained in their last seven by an average of 93 yards a game. The huge line movement here is probably due to BC QB Thomas Castellanos entering the transfer portal after being benched in last week's win over Syracuse. Not sure I wanna step in front of SMU right now regardless.
Louisville (-20', up from -19') at STANFORD - The Cardinals vs the Cardinal. Louisville is off a bye following a huge upset win at Clemson two weeks ago. Stanford has been largely noncompetitive in their last six games and is playing out the string.
NORTH CAROLINA (-11, up from -10) vs Wake Forest - The Tar Heels are off a bye and seem to have turned things around, winning their last two and snapping a four game skid. They've won the last three meetings between these two by a grand total of 11 points but didn't play last year. The Demon Deacons are 0-5 vs FBS teams at home this year, but are 3-0 SU away from Winston-Salem, and 2-0-1 ATS. Weird.
